Dominic Laurie
Dominic Laurie is a former English business broadcast journalist. He was a presenter of business news on Breakfast, BBC One's morning television news programme and BBC Radio 5 and now works in communications in the private sector. Early life His parents moved from Northern Ireland to North London, where Dominic was born in April 1974. He grew up in Highgate, and was educated privately. He then studied French and Italian at Robinson College, Cambridge, during which time he spent a year in Rome teaching English at a secondary school. On graduation he was recruited by United Biscuits, working as a car-based account manager selling crisps and biscuits in South Wales, Cardiff and West Wales. South Wales
South Wales ( cy, De Cymru) is a loosely defined region of Wales bordered by England to the east and mid Wales to the north. Generally considered to include the historic counties of Glamorgan and Monmouthshire, south Wales extends westwards to include Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. In the western extent, from Swansea westwards, local people would probably recognise that they lived in both south Wales and west Wales. MediaCityUK is a mixed-use property development on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The project was developed by Peel Media; its principal tenants are media organisations and the Quayside MediaCityUK shopping centre. The land occupied by the development was part of the Port of Manchester and Manchester Docks. The BBC signalled its intention to move jobs to Manchester in 2004, and the Salford Quays site was chosen in 2006. The Peel Group was granted planning permission to develop the site in 2007, and construction of the development, with its own energy generation plant and communications network, began the same year. ''Wake Up to Money'' is an early morning financial radio programme on BBC Radio 5 Live. It is broadcast from 05:00 to 06:00 each weekday. Go Fly (styled and trading as Go) was the name of a British low-cost airline, founded by British Airways in 1998. It operated flights between London Stansted Airport and destinations in Europe. The airline was purchased from BA in a management buyout backed by the private equity firm 3i in 2001. In 2002, it was bought by its rival EasyJet and was merged into that airline's operations by 2005. Its head office was in Enterprise House at London Stansted Airport in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex.
