Dominic Collins
Dominic Collins (; 1566 – 31 October 1602) was an Irish Jesuit lay brother, an ex-soldier, who died for his Catholic faith. He was beatified as a martyr by Pope John Paul II on 27 September 1992. Life Collins was born in 1566 of a prominent merchant family in Youghal, County Cork, in the Kingdom of Ireland, His father and brother both served as mayors of the town. In 1586 he went to Nantes, France, where he worked for three years as a servant in various hostelries in Brittany, to acquire a horse and to join the cavalry. Dominic Toubeix (b.1927), sometimes known as Dominic, was a French fashion designer who worked for some time in New York in the 1960s. Early life and career Toubeix was born in Paris around 1927. He trained in the couture industry, first for Marcel Rochas, and then as an assistant to Antonio del Castillo whilst he was heading the house of Lanvin. Toubeix worked with Castillo for ten years. After Castillo was let go by Lanvin in 1962, Toubeix protested what he saw as his mentor's unfair treatment by throwing a rock through the window of the Lanvin establishment on the Rue d'Boissy Anglais, for which he spent a night in police custody. Johann Dominik Bossi (1767–1853), also known as ''Domenico Bossi'', was an Italian painter. Dominic of Prussia (german: Dominikus von Preußen; la, Dominicus Prutenus; 1382–1461) was a Carthusian monk and ascetical writer.
