Domingo Vega De La Rosa
Domingo Vega de la Rosa (born 1953, in Tenerife) is a painter from the Canary Islands, Spain. He lives and works in Los Realejos. Biography Early life Dominga Vega de la Rosa is born in Puerto de la Cruz, a town at the north coast of Tenerife. At the age of about thirteen, he got interested in painting because of an old encyclopaedia with black and white art reproductions. Later, he went to the library, to read books about modern art. His first exhibition was in 1977 in Palma de Mallorca. He is an autodidact. After a study in tourism, he moved to Barcelona in 1974 and made a journey to the Netherlands where he visited the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem. In musea he was trying to learn more about art. He felt a vocation as an artist. The 70's In 1975 he had to come back to Tenerife for military service. This was the year Francisco Franco died. Frans Hals Museum
The Frans Hals Museum is a museum located in Haarlem, the Netherlands. The museum was established in 1862. In 1950, the museum was split in two locations when the collection of modern art was moved to the '' Museum De Hallen'' (since 2018 called ''Hal)''. The main collection, including its famous 17th-century Frans Hals paintings, for which the museum is named, is located in the former ''Oude Mannenhuis'' on the Groot Heiligland. The museum was founded in 1862 in the newly renovated former Dominican church cloisters located in the back of the Haarlem city hall known as the ''Prinsenhof'', and when it needed more space, it moved to the recently vacated location of the town orphanage in 1913. Óscar Domínguez
Óscar M. Domínguez (3 January 1906 – 31 December 1957) was a Spanish surrealist painter. Biography Born in San Cristóbal de La Laguna on the island of Tenerife, on the Canary Islands Spain, Domínguez spent his youth with his grandmother in Tacoronte and devoted himself to painting at a young age after suffering a serious illness which affected his growth and caused a progressive deformation of his facial bone frame and limbs. He went to Paris at 21 where he first worked for his father in the central market of Les Halles, and spent his nights diving in cabarets. He then frequented some art schools, and visited galleries and museums. He was rapidly attracted by avant-garde painters, notably Yves Tanguy and Pablo Picasso, whose influences were visible in his first works.
