Domingo (Gal Costa And Caetano Veloso Album)
''Domingo'' () is the debut studio album by Gal Costa and Caetano Veloso. It was released on Philips Records in 1967. Critical reception Richard Mortifoglio of AllMusic described the album as "a quiet, post-bossa nova effort characterized by fine singing and some very good songs, some of them penned by Veloso himself." Rob Arcand of ''Vice'' wrote, "Caetano Veloso would become an especially strong proponent of the acoustic style of João Gilberto; his 1967 debut album ''Domingo'' offered a near-perfect recreation of the soft voice and playing style of the Bahia native, even as his lyrics had more to do with staying strong amid political uncertainty than lazing about on the Ipanema shores." Domingo (Titãs Album)
''Domingo'' ''(Sunday)'' is the eighth studio album released by Brazilian rock band Titãs. The album became a gold record in Brazil. It is the second Titãs album produced by Jack Endino. Context and production ''Domingo'' came after a period of solo projects by most of the band's members. Vocalists Branco Mello and Sérgio Britto (the latter also being the keyboardist) had released ''Con el Mundo a Mis Pies'' under their project Kleiderman; the also vocalists Paulo Miklos and Nando Reis (the latter also being the bassist) had experienced their solo debuts (''Paulo Miklos'' and ''12 de Janeiro'', respectively) and guitarist Tony Bellotto had published his first book, ''Bellini e a Esfinge''. The solo releases were of different styles and exposed the fact that Titãs was formed by different minds and ideas. The band itself admits the albums always ended up leaving a member disappointed. Bellotto didn't felt represented by the electronic elements of ''Õ Blésq Blom''. Reis only s ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Stella (album)
''Stella'' is the fourth studio album by the Swiss electronic band Yello, first released in Germany, Switzerland and Austria on 29 January 1985, and in the UK and US in March 1985. It was the first album made by the band without founder member Carlos Perón, and with his departure the remaining duo of Boris Blank and Dieter Meier began to move away from experimental electronic sounds towards a more commercial synthpop and cinematic soundtrack style. As well as becoming the first album ever by a Swiss group to top the Swiss album chart, it was the band's breakthrough album internationally, helped by the success of the song " Oh Yeah", which gained the band worldwide attention the following year after it was prominently featured in the 1986 film ''Ferris Bueller's Day Off'' and then a year later in '' The Secret of My Success''. Recording Recording took place from mid-1983 to mid-1984 at the band's Yello Studio on the shore of Lake Zurich. Blank had purchased two new synthesizers ... Subaru Domingo
The Subaru Sumo, known as the Libero in European markets except the UK, Iceland, and Sweden, and as the Domingo in the Japanese market, is a cabover microvan produced from 1983 to 1998. In Belgium, it was known as the Combi, and in Taiwan the latter generation was marketed as the Estratto. It was also called the Subaru E10 and Subaru E12 respectively in some places, the names referring to the size of the engines. The Sumo shared many characteristics with the Sambar, except it had extended front and rear bumpers and a larger engine borrowed from the Subaru Justy. Because of these modifications, it didn't conform to kei car regulations, which stipulate the maximum dimensions of the vehicle and the maximum engine displacement requirements, which then determine the vehicle tax to be paid. It was launched with the option of four-wheel drive and powered by 997 cc, later 1,189 cc three-cylinder EF engines based on those used in the Subaru Justy although in the van they w ...
