Domenic Anthony Giulio Cretara (March 29, 1946 – December 22, 2017) was an American painter of Italian descent born in Boston, Massachusetts. Cretara is a figurative artist and has often been labeled a modern Caravaggista, as he favors the chiaroscuro method of painting. Domenic died in Harbor City, CA on December 22, 2017. Early life Childhood Domenic Cretara grew up an only child in an Italian American neighborhood in East Boston, Massachusetts. Domenic J. Sarno (born May 4, 1963) is the current mayor of Springfield, Massachusetts. First elected in 2007, Sarno has won re-election five times since and is a member of the Democratic Party. Winning election to a fifth term overall in 2019 and the third four-year term, he is the longest-serving mayor in Springfield's history. Early life Sarno was born in Springfield, Massachusetts to Alfonso and Clara Sarno, who were Italian immigrants and small business owners. He graduated from the High School of Commerce. Domenic Michele Antonio Troiano (January 17, 1946 – May 25, 2005) was a Canadian guitarist and songwriter, best known as a member of Mandala, Bush, James Gang, and The Guess Who. He also recorded music for film and television, often made guest appearances on other musicians' albums, and worked as a producer. Biography Troiano was born in Modugno, Italy, and his family emigrated to Toronto, Ontario during his childhood. He became a Canadian citizen in 1955. His first professional music work was in the early 1960s with a band fronted by Ronnie Hawkins. In 1965 Troiano joined a local Toronto band called the Five Rogues, which later found success as Mandala. The band achieved several hit singles in Canada, and played several times in the United States. Mandala disbanded in 1969, after which Troiano and some of the other members formed the new band Bush. Domenic Michael Recchia, Jr. (born July 25, 1959) is an American attorney and politician from New York City. A member of the Democratic Party, Recchia formerly represented the 47th district of the New York City Council, which included areas of Bensonhurst, Brighton Beach, Coney Island, and Gravesend in south Brooklyn. Domenic Carosa (born 1974) is an Australian businessman from Melbourne, Australia. Carosa was the co-founder of the digital music company, Destra Corporation. At the age of 25, Destra was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, making Carosa the youngest CEO to manage a company on the Securities Exchange in Australian history. Destra's assets were sold after the Opes Prime collapse in 2008, and Carosa became the founder of the Future Capital Development Fund in 2008. Domenic Michael Abounader (born March 11, 1995) is an American-born freestyle wrestler. Domestically, Abounader competed at St. Edward High School, where he won three state titles, finishing his senior season undefeated and the number one ranked wrestler in the country at 182lbs. Abounader attended The University of Michigan where he was a Big Ten Champion and All-American. Internationally, he competes for Lebanon, his father's home country. Domenic Mobilio (January 14, 1969 – November 13, 2004) was a Canadian professional soccer player who played as a striker. Club career Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Mobilio was a long-time member of the Vancouver 86ers turned Vancouver Whitecaps. He played 14 seasons beginning with the team in the Canadian Soccer League, later joining the American Professional Soccer League, before finishing up a Whitecap.
