Dolors Terradas
Dolors Terradas i Viñals (born 24 February 1949) is a Spanish teacher and politician, a member of the Congress of Deputies during the 11th Legislature. Biography Dolors Terradas earned a licentiate in history from the University of Girona. She worked as a teacher of (ESO) geography and history at several vocational training centers, as well as baccalaureate programs. She also performed studies on demography in Pla de l'Estany, some of which she published in the '' Revista de Girona''. In 1971 she became politically active in the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSUC), and was victorious as their candidate for the Banyoles municipal council in the 1983 local elections. In 1988 she left the PSUC, and in the 1999 elections she occupied the symbolic 17th place in the Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC) list for the municipality of Banyoles. ''El Punt'' (, meaning in English "The Point") was a Catalan daily newspaper based in Girona, Catalonia (Spain). The newspaper was renamed in 1990 from the original ''Punt Diari'' ('Daily Point'). It was published between 24 February 1979 and 31 July 2011. History and profile The newspaper was founded on 24 February 1979. In the beginning the paper was only circulated in the province of Girona, but from 11 September 2004 it became available in the province of Barcelona. The 2015 Spanish general election was held on Sunday, 20 December 2015, to elect the 11th Cortes Generales of the Kingdom of Spain. All 350 seats in the Congress of Deputies were up for election, as well as 208 of 266 seats in the Senate. At exactly four years and one month since the previous general election, this remains the longest timespan between two general elections since the Spanish transition to democracy, and the only time in Spain a general election has been held on the latest possible date allowed under law.
