Dokka (river)
Dokka is the administrative centre of Nordre Land Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located at the confluence of the rivers Dokka and Etna, about north of the lake Randsfjorden, the fourth largest lake in Norway. The village has a population (2021) of 2,924 and a population density of . The Østsinni Church is located on the north edge of the village. The Norwegian County Road 33 runs from Odnes in the southeast through Dokka, past Nordsinni and westwards to Etnedal and Bjørgo. Norwegian County Road 245 runs to the south from Dokka, along the west side of the Randsfjorden to Bjoneroa. Norwegian County Road 250 heads north from Dokka towards Aust-Torpa. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. The purpose was to co-operate on publishing encyclopaedias and dictionaries. The first volume of Store norske leksikon (SNL) was published in 1978. A total of four editions was published (the last one in 2004), before the online version was transferred to Institusjonen Fritt Ord og Sparebankstiftelsen DnB in 2011. Kunnskapsforlaget is the largest dictionary publisher in Norway. They publish both printed books, and digital dictionaries that are available through the online service Ordnett (launched in 2004). Rune Brattsveen (born 5 April 1984) is a former Norwegian biathlete. Life and career Brattsveen was born in Dokka to mother Jorun, a librarian, and father Bjørn. Old Norse
Old Norse, Old Nordic, or Old Scandinavian, is a stage of development of North Germanic languages, North Germanic dialects before their final divergence into separate Nordic languages. Bjoneroa
Bjoneroa is a village in Gran Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located along the western shore of Norway's fourth largest lake, Randsfjorden. The village lies in the far northwestern part of Gran, just along the municipal border with Søndre Land. The village had about 118 residents in 2017. There is a long car ferry from Bjoneroa to Horn on the opposite side of the lake Randsfjorden. This is the only car ferry in Norway that operates year-round on an inland freshwater lake. Sørum Church is located in the village along with a fire station, school, nursing home, gas station, and grocery store. The local business community consists of the timber trade and millwork, in addition to seasonal tourism. These industries employ only a small part of the population. In addition, others are employed in the public sector at schools and nursing homes.
