Dois (album)
''Dois'' () is the second studio album by Brazilian rock band Legião Urbana. It was released in July 1986 and produced by Mayrton Bahia, which was at that time assigned by EMI-Odeon to produce the label's newcomers. The booklet has a picture of a couple hugging each other and photographed from behind; it was taken by Ico Ouro Preto, former guitarist turned-photographer of the band. Background The success of previous album (which by then had already sold 100,000 copies) made vocalist, acoustic guitarist and keyboardist Renato Russo contemplate releasing their sophomore album as a double one, with the title ''Mitologia e Intuição'' (Mythology and Intuition). The label wasn't impressed with the idea and the album was done as a single one. Russo was experiencing the "second album syndrome", as guitarist Dado Villa-Lobos said. Legião Urbana
Legião Urbana (Portuguese for Urban Legion) was a Brazilian rock band formed in 1982 in Brasília, Distrito Federal. The band primarily consisted of Renato Russo (vocals, bass and keyboards), Dado Villa-Lobos (guitar) and Marcelo Bonfá (drums). In its earlier days, Legião Urbana also had a full-time bassist, Renato Rocha, but he left the band due to creative divergences. While Legião Urbana disbanded officially in 1996, after frontman Renato Russo's death, it is one of the most famous Brazilian rock bands, alongside Os Mutantes, Titãs, Os Paralamas do Sucesso, and Barão Vermelho. Attaque 77 ("Attack 77"), sometimes stylized as A77aque, is an Argentine punk rock group. The band was formed in 1987 as a group of friends who got together to play their favorite songs, most of them by The Ramones, their favorite band and the one that influenced them the most. They started writing songs in the same punk rock style, with lyrics with proletarian content (about exploited factory workers, etc.), and wore denim jackets, which became one of their hallmarks in their beginnings. "Índios"
"Índios" is a song composed by Renato Russo, released in 1986 on the ''Dois (album), Dois'' album by Legião Urbana and also released as the third single from the album in December the same year. A live version was also released in 2001 as a single from the live album ''Como é Que Se Diz Eu te Amo''. The song's title includes quotation marks. According to Russo, they are used to indicate that the title does not refer to Brazil's first inhabitants, but to the innocence instilled in the country's people since its beginnings, with them always being fooled by their leaders. The song begs for a different world, with less selfish people. History and structure Russo struggled to match the lyrics to the music. Over ten different recordings were attempted. Eduardo E Mônica
"Eduardo e Mônica" (Eduardo and Monica) is a song from Brazilian rock band Legião Urbana's 1986 album '' Dois'', released as promo single. It tells a romantic story centered on a couple formed by the 16-year-old Eduardo and the older college student Mônica, who are very different from each other. Writing and theme The song had already been recorded in 1982, when Russo performed alone with his acoustic guitar under the moniker "O Trovador Solitário" (The Solitary Troubadour), on a cassette tape that would be later recovered and released along with other songs on his posthumous solo album '' O Trovador Solitário''. This version has a different ending than the one from the album. In the latter, it is stated that in a certain vacation period, the family could not travel because the son was retaking a class in school.
