Denny Doherty
Dennis Gerrard Stephen Doherty (November 29, 1940 – January 19, 2007) was a Canadian singer. He was a founding member of the 1960s musical group the Mamas and the Papas for which he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Early life and career Denny Doherty was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the youngest of five children. He grew up in Halifax's north end in a devout Catholic household. His father was a dockworker and Doherty has described his mother as "a housewife and mystic". Doherty and three friends, Richard Sheehan, Eddie Thibodeau, and Mike O'Connell, began their musical career in 1956 with a band called the Hepsters. Two years later they disbanded. In 1960, still in Halifax, Doherty, aged 19, along with Pat LaCroix and Richard Byrne, began a folk group, called the Colonials. Denis Doherty
Denis Joseph Doherty (1861 – 23 October 1935) was an Australian businessman, pastoralist and politician who served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1897 to 1903, representing the seat of North Fremantle. Doherty was born in Newry, County Armagh, Ireland. He arrived in Australia in 1882, settling in Sydney. In 1886, he moved to Wyndham, a small town in Western Australia's Kimberley region, with a schoolmate from Ireland, Francis Connor. They went into partnership together, initially supplying goods to the Kimberley goldfields, and later went into the live cattle trade, acquiring two pastoral leases in the Northern Territory ( Newry Station and Auvergne Station). In 1897, Connor and Doherty merged their business with that of Michael Durack, forming Connor, Doherty & Durack.

Darrien Doherty (born ) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s. He is one of three players to date (the others being Tyran Smith and Blake Green) to play first grade for a record seven different NRL clubs. Career Doherty began his playing career at the age of 19 with his one and only first grade game with the Penrith Panthers on 26 August 1990, coming off the bench and playing the in their round 22 clash against the Western Suburbs Magpies at Campbelltown Stadium.
