Dodge City High School
Dodge City High School is a public high school located in Dodge City, Kansas, United States, serving students in grades 9–12. The school is operated by Dodge City USD 443 school district. The current principal is Martha Mendoza - a graduate from DCHS (Class of 1989). Dodge City is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association and offers a variety of sports programs. Extracurricular activities include the performing arts, school publications, and clubs. Athletic teams compete in the 6A classification and are known as the "Red Demons". McPherson College
McPherson College is a private college associated with the Church of the Brethren and located in McPherson, Kansas. It was chartered in 1887 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. History During their 1887 Annual Meeting, the Church of the Brethren recognized the need for a college west of the Mississippi River to serve the educational desires of settlers moving westward. The first academic semester opened on 5 September 1888, with 60 students and a faculty of seven. The Dormitory, a single building which served as residence hall, college, and library had been constructed before the semester began. Woody Woodard
Chalmer E. Woodard (c. 1917 – December 9, 1996) was an American football player, coach of football, basketball, and track, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at McPherson College from 1950 to 1952, at Southern Methodist University (SMU) from 1953 to 1956, and at the Municipal University of Wichita—now known as the University of Wichita—from 1957 to 1959, compiling a career college football record of 47–45–4. Cotton Bowl Parade
The Comerica Bank New Year's Parade (also known as the Cotton Bowl Parade) was an annual New Year's Day parade held in downtown Dallas, Texas. The parade was sponsored by Comerica Bank, presented by the J. Curtis Sanford Parade Committee, and benefited the Field and Mary Scovell Scholarship Foundation. It was revived in 2007 and was held each year for the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. An estimated 100,000 people attended the parade each year. The parade route was long, starting in the Dallas Arts District and ending at the American Airlines Center, by Victory Park. It featured about 80 different entries, including about 20 floats and various marching bands, balloons, and other such performances. The Rose Parade, also known as the Tournament of Roses Parade (or simply the Tournament of Roses), is an annual parade held mostly along Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California, United States, on New Year's Day (or on Monday, January 2 if New Year's Day falls on a Sunday).
