''Document Journal'' is an independent culture, arts, and fashion magazine founded in New York in 2012. Published biannually in the spring and fall, the magazine is printed in book format and distributed globally. ''Document'' focuses on American and global culture, and features prominent voices of art, literature, and fashion. ''Documents editor-in-chief and creative director is Nick Vogelson. The fashion/ creative director is Sarah Richardson. Richard Prince
Richard Prince (born 1949) is an American painter and photographer. In the mid-1970s, Prince made drawings and painterly collages that he has since disowned. His image, ''Untitled (Cowboy)'', a rephotographing of a photograph by Sam Abell and appropriated from a cigarette advertisement, was the first rephotograph to be sold for more than $1 million at auction at Christie's New York in 2005. He is regarded as "one of the most revered artists of his generation" according to ''The New York Times''. Starting in 1977, Prince photographed four photographs which previously appeared in ''The New York Times''. Tyler Mitchell (photographer)
Tyler Mitchell (born April 12, 1995) is an American photographer. He is based in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, and is best known for his cover photo of Beyoncé for the cover of ''Vogue (magazine), Vogue''. Early life Mitchell grew up in Marietta, Georgia. In ninth grade, he purchased a Canon Inc., Canon camera and taught himself how to make skateboarding videos. He was inspired by Spike Jonze to learn how to make videos and taught himself how to edit through YouTube tutorials. Mitchell attended The Westminster Schools of Atlanta. In 2015, Mitchell created and published his first book at the age of 20 after visiting Havana, Cuba, on a six-week photography program. He is a teaching professor at the University of California, Berkeley, an associate professor of writing at Columbia University and a staff writer and theater critic for ''The New Yorker'' magazine. Hans Ulrich Obrist (born 1968) is a Swiss art curator, critic, and historian of art. He is artistic director at the Serpentine Galleries, London. Obrist is the author of ''The Interview Project'', an extensive ongoing project of interviews. He is also co-editor of the ''Cahiers d'Art'' review. Larry Clark (filmmaker)
Larry Clark (born January 19, 1948) is one of the leading directors of the L.A. Rebellion (also known as the Los Angeles School of Black Filmmakers). He directed the feature films ''Passing Through'' (1977) and ''Cutting Horse'' (2002). He is also a film professor in the Cinema Department at San Francisco State University. Biography A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Clark received a bachelor's degree at Miami University, prior to arriving at UCLA, where he majored in film. While a student at UCLA, Clark taught film workshops at the Performing Arts Society of Los Angeles (PASLA), under the guidance of Vantile Whitfield. Craig McDean (born 1964 in England) is a British fashion photographer, originally from Middlewich, now based in New York City. Life McDean originally trained and worked as a car mechanic before studying photography at Mid Cheshire College (OND) and Blackpool and The Fylde College of Further & Higher Education (PQE) where he took photography classes before he dropped out and moved to London.
