Doctor Who (series 14)
The fourteenth series of the British science fiction television programme ''Doctor Who'' is set to premiere in 2024. It will be the fifth series led by Russell T Davies as head writer and executive producer, and the first since his return to the show, having previously worked on it from 2005–2010. This series is set to be the fourteenth to air following the programme's revival in 2005, and will be the fortieth season overall. The fourteenth series was announced with Davies' return to the programme for its 60th anniversary in 2023 and beyond. The series will introduce Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor, a new incarnation of the Doctor, an alien Time Lord who travels through time and space in the TARDIS, which appears to be a British police box from the outside. The series also introduces Millie Gibson as the Doctor's newest companion, Ruby Sunday. Mizero Ncuti Gatwa ( ; born 15 October 1992) is a Rwandan-Scottish actor. He rose to prominence as Eric Effiong on the Netflix comedy-drama series ''Sex Education'' (2019–present), which earned him a BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Actor in Television and three BAFTA Television Award nominations for Best Male Comedy Performance. In May 2022, Gatwa was announced to play what will be the fifteenth incarnation of the Doctor on the BBC series ''Doctor Who'', making him the first black actor to lead the series. Mandip Kaur Gill (born 5 January 1988) is an English actress. Her first television role came in 2012 when she was cast as Phoebe McQueen in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks''. After departing the series in 2015, Gill went on to have guest roles in ''Cuckoo'', ''Doctors'', ''The Good Karma Hospital'' and ''Casualty''.
