Docter Optics
Noblex, formerly Docter Optics, is a German manufacturer of optics, including binoculars, rifle scopes, spotting scopes, red dot sights, flashlights and reading glasses. Its headquarters are in Eisfeld, Thuringia, Germany, where most of the products are developed and manufactured. Docter is part of the Analytik Jena Group. History The company grew out of binocular production by the forerunner of Carl Zeiss AG before World War Two. In 1952 a part of the company VEB Carl Zeiss Jena was established in Eisfeld in what was then East Germany. Starting from tasks as supplier of parts and pre-assembling products for the Zeiss factories in Jena the company continuously developed over the following years to become a producer of precision-engineered optical consumer goods and industrial products. Arthur Docters Van Leeuwen
Arthur Docters van Leeuwen (8 May 1945 – 14 August 2020) was a Dutch politician, jurist and civil servant. He was member of the liberal political party VVD. Between 1999 and 2007 he was chairman of the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets, an agency of the Dutch government, which supervises Dutch financial markets. Career Docters van Leeuwen was born in The Hague on 8 May 1945. After studying law (degree 1969) and various functions for the Dutch government, he became head of the Domestic Security Service, the Dutch secret service (currently the AIVD), in 1989. In 1995, he was succeeded by Nico Buis, after Docters van Leeuwen became a member and chairman of the Board of Procurators General in The Hague (a board which supervises Dutch public prosecutors). As a member of this board, Docters van Leeuwen came into conflict in 1998 with Justice minister Winnie Sorgdrager ( D66).
