Mircea Dobrescu
Mircea Dobrescu (5 September 1930 – 6 August 2015) was a flyweight boxer from Romania. He competed at the 1952, 1956 and 1960 Olympics and won a silver medal in 1956, losing to Terence Spinks on points.Mircea Dobrescu

He won two more silver medals at the European championships in 1955 and 1957. Dobrescu took up boxing in 1948 and retired in 1982 after winning six national flyweight titles, the one from 1953 against his brother Constantin. He inherited from his mother, which resulted in blindness during his last years.

Nicolae Dobrescu
Nicolae Dobrescu (26 July 1874 – 10 July 1914) was a Romanian church historian and theologian within the Romanian Orthodox Church. Biography He was born into a peasant family in Celeiu, Romanați County, a village later merged into Corabia town and located in the Oltenia region. His father was named Dobre D. Deaconu, and the surname Dobrescu was assigned to him at the village primary school. After finishing there, he attended the central seminary in the national capital Bucharest from 1888 to 1896. After graduating, he enrolled in two faculties at the University of Bucharest, theology and literature, completing both in 1902. His theology dissertation consisted of a Romanian translation of '' Octavius'' by Marcus Minucius Felix, preceded by a short biography and critical study. The same autumn, he won a scholarship to study abroad, with a particular focus on the history of the Romanian church. Mihai Bogdan Dobrescu (boxer)
Mihai Bogdan Dobrescu (born November 30, 1976, in Ploieşti, Prahova) is a boxer from Romania, who won the silver medal in the Men's Flyweight (– 51 kg) division at the 2000 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Tampere, Finland. In the final he was defeated by Ukraine's Vladimir Sidorenko. M.B. Dobrescu represented Romania at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. There he was stopped in the second round by Cuba's Manuel Mantilla. Alexandru Graur
Alexandru Graur (; July 9, 1900 – July 9, 1988) was a Romanian linguist. Born into a Jewish family in Botoșani, Graur graduated from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest and the École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris (1924–1929). He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Sorbonne. After returning to Bucharest, he became involved in academic life and published studies in different periodicals. Graur founded and was the principal (1941–1944) of the "Liceul particular evreiesc" (Jewish Private High School). In 1946 he started teaching at the university level. In 1955 he was named titular member of the Romanian Academy. Between 1954 and 1956 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Letters at the University of Bucharest.
