Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute
National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine (NMetAU; formerly DMetl, Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute) is a university in Dnipro dedicated to the study of metallurgy. History National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine is the oldest higher metallurgical educational institution of Ukraine. It was founded as a factory department of the Ekaternoslav Higher Mining School in October 1899. In 1912, the department was transformed into the metallurgical faculty of the Mining Institute, which later became the Dnipro Metallurgical Institute in 1930. In 1993, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine granted the Institute the status of a state university. In 1999, the Decree of the President of Ukraine granted it the status of the National Academy. Academics There are 13 schools focusing on various scientific disciplines in the academy. Dnipro, previously called Dnipropetrovsk from 1926 until May 2016, is Ukraine's fourth-largest city, with about one million inhabitants. Freediving, free-diving, free diving, breath-hold diving, or skin diving is a form of underwater diving that relies on breath-holding until resurfacing rather than the use of breathing apparatus such as scuba gear.
