Dixie Browning
Dixie Browning, née Burrus (born September 9, 1930 in North Carolina) is an American artist and writer of over 100 romance novels. She also has published under the pen name Zoe Dozier, and with her sister Mary Burrus Williams, she writes historical romance under the name Bronwyn Williams. She is a recipient of the RITA Award. Biography Dixie Burrus was born in 1930 on North Carolina's Outer Banks, daughter of professional baseball player Maurice Lennon "Dick" Burrus. She learned from a young age to enjoy the water and the outdoors, and to spend plenty of time lying down with a good book as well. Browning considers herself foremost an artist. She studied and later taught art. Frisco, North Carolina
Frisco is a small unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) on the barrier island of Hatteras Island, between the villages of Buxton and Hatteras. It is located in Dare County, North Carolina, United States, and was previously named "Trent", or "Trent Woods", but received a new name with the coming of the post office in 1898. Most of the land is taken by houses available for rental during the summer months, and as such the community's population varies seasonally. As of the 2010 census, the permanent population of the community was 200. North Carolina Highway 12 serves as the primary road in Frisco and connects the community to others on the island. Billy Mitchell Airport is located in Frisco and was named after former Army General Billy Mitchell. Across the street from the small, local airfield is the Frisco Native American Museum. Dorothy Garlock (June 22, 1919 – April 6, 2018) was an American author of over 50 historical romance novels, most of them set in the American West. Many of her books became bestsellers. She also wrote under the pen names Johanna Phillips, Dorothy Phillips and Dorothy Glenn. Biography Dorothy Garlock was born on June 22, 1919, in Texas, but spent twenty-five years in Oklahoma City. She and her husband moved to Clear Lake, Iowa, in 1955. Garlock worked for fourteen years as a bookkeeper and columnist for the local newspaper before retiring at age 49. To fill her time while she and her husband spent winters in a small south-Texas town, Garlock began to write stories. She completed four manuscripts before she decided to try to publish one of them. Park Frederick "Pepper" Adams III (October 8, 1930 – September 10, 1986) was an American jazz baritone saxophonist and composer. Biography Broadrick was born on November 26, 1938, and raised as an only child for sixteen years, until her younger sister, Derralee, was born.
