Division No. 7 (Brandon Area) is a census division located within the Westman Region in the south western area of the province of Manitoba, Canada. Unlike in some other provinces, census divisions do not reflect the organization of local government in Manitoba. These areas exist solely for the purposes of statistical analysis and presentation; they have no government of their own. The area's major service centre is the city of Brandon, the second largest city in the province. The area population in 2001 was 57,148. The major industries of the Brandon area are agriculture, fertilizer manufacturing, livestock production, and packaging. The Canadian Forces are a major employer due to their training base ( CFB Shilo) near the community of Shilo. Glenboro, Manitoba
Glenboro is an unincorporated urban community in the Municipality of Glenboro – South Cypress within the Canadian province of Manitoba that held village status prior to January 1, 2015. it is located about 80 km southeast of the City of Brandon. In the 2016 census it had a population of 624. The community is a service centre for the surrounding farming community. Glenboro is the home of "Sara the camel", a 17′ statue created in October 1978, by Mr. George Barone of Barone Sculptures in Winnipeg. "Sara" is emblematic of the nearby Spirit Sands, and has been used to promote the Glenboro area and nearby Spruce Woods Provincial Park. Cornwallis is a rural municipality located in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It surrounds the east, south and west sides of Brandon, Manitoba. Most of the land comprising the municipality is farmland, but it contains a few settlements. One of the larger settlements, Sprucewoods, sits at the north gate of Canadian Forces Base Shilo and contains a large group of the municipal population. Souris is an unincorporated urban community in the Municipality of Souris – Glenwood within the Canadian province of Manitoba that held town status prior to January 1, 2015 (2016 population: 1,876). It is located within the municipality at the confluence of Plum Creek and Souris River, from which it takes its name. Before 1882, the town was called Plum Creek.
