The census geographic units of Canada are the census subdivisions defined and used by Canada's federal government statistics bureau Statistics Canada to conduct the country's quinquennial census. Kenosee Lake, Saskatchewan
Kenosee Lake ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Wawken No. 93 and Census Division No. 1. The village is situated on Moose Bay, which is on the north-east part of Kenosee Lake, just off Highway 9, on a forested plateau called Moose Mountain Upland. It is entirely surrounded by Moose Mountain Provincial Park, which was established in 1931. Kenosee Lake was incorporated as a village on 1 October 1987. Kennedy ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Wawken No. 93 and Census Division No. 1. The village lies just south of Provincial Highway 48 about 3 km west of Highway 9. Kennedy is home to the Moose Mountain Pro Rodeo which takes place every year on the third weekend in July. Heward, Saskatchewan
Heward ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Tecumseh No. 65 and Census Division No. 1. The village is located along highway 33 in southeastern Saskatchewan. Even though it has under 50 people it still maintains a post office, rink, and hall that all service the farming community. In 1977 Prairie Trails and Tales: Heward Saskatchewan 1900-1976 was written by Muriel Dempsey. History Heward incorporated as a village on November 21, 1904. Bryce Dickey, born in Heward in 1908, wrote an extensive history of the village which is published in the summer 2007 issue of Folklore magazine. He describes how "Reverend Pike, an Englishman and a bachelor decided to build a new church and it was to be the same design and construction as one in England that had been lost to the sea due to coastal erosion." Glen Ewen, Saskatchewan
Glen Ewen ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Enniskillen No. 3 and Census Division No. 1. The village is located on the Canadian Pacific Railway just south of Provincial Highway 18. The towns of Carnduff and Oxbow are nearby. The community was founded March 24, 1905 by a rail worker and Glen Ewen's first postmaster (Thomas Ewen). The town policy of tearing down any dwellings which have been vacated, combined with the current boom in the oilfield in this area, has resulted in a housing shortage for incoming workers. The school closed in November, 1989, and is now the Glen Ewen Communiplex. In 2011, the new Glen Ewen Hotel opened, replacing the old hotel that had burned down in 2007. Frobisher ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Coalfields No. 4 and Census Division No. 1. It has an elevation of 576 metres (1891 feet) above sea level. Frobisher is located along Highway 18, in the heart of south-east Saskatchewan's oil patch. Many pumpjacks and oil batteries are found in the area. Within the village, there are oil field related businesses, a post office, a restaurant/convenience store, and Frobisher United Church. Alida, Saskatchewan
Alida ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Reciprocity No. 32 and Census Division No. 1. The village is approximately east of the City of Estevan. Farming and oil are the major local industries. Several ghost towns are in the vicinity, including Nottingham to the east, Auburnton, to the west, and Cantal to the north-west. With the investment of oil and other industries, the area continues to grow. History Alida was founded as a Canadian Pacific Railway station in the late 19th century, and it was named for Dame Alida Brittain.
