Division I Men's Lacrosse Records
Division I men's lacrosse records listed here are primarily records compiled by the NCAA's Director of Statistics office. Included in this consolidation are the NCAA men's Division I individual single-season and career leaders. Official NCAA men's lacrosse records did not begin until the 1971 season and are based on information submitted to the NCAA statistics service by institutions participating in the weekly statistics rankings, which started in 1996. Career records include players who played at least three seasons (in a four-season career) or two (in a three-season career) in Division I during the era of official NCAA statistics. In statistical rankings, the rounding of percentages and/or averages may indicate ties where none exist. In these cases, the numerical order of the rankings is accurate. National Collegiate Athletic Association
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates student athletics among about 1,100 schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. It also organizes the athletic programs of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada and helps over 500,000 college student athletes who compete annually in college sports. The organization is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Until 1957, the NCAA was a single division for all schools. That year, the NCAA split into the University Division and the College Division. In August 1973, the current three-division system of Division I, Division II, and Division III was adopted by the NCAA membership in a special convention. Chris Cameron (lacrosse)
Chris Cameron was an All-American lacrosse player at Lehigh University from 1986 to 1989 who twice led the nation in scoring. Playing career Cameron is among the all-time leaders in Division I scoring with 122 goal and 186 assists for 308 career points. Cameron played his prep ball at Walt Whitman on Long Island before being recruited to Lehigh. Chris's top season was 1986 when he scored 40 goals and handed out 53 assists for 93 total point in 14 games while leading the nation in scoring that season. Cameron's senior season, he was voted All-American and was selected to play in the North-South All-Star Classic. He led the Engineers to an 8-6 record in 1986 and 9-5 in 1987, and was also inducted into the Lehigh University Hall of Fame. Wesley Berg
Wesley Berg (born April 19, 1993 in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the San Diego Seals of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and Redwoods Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). Junior and Major Berg began his amateur career with the Coquitlam Adanacs Jr. A of the BC Junior A Lacrosse League in 2010. In his first season with the Adanacs, Berg finished with 42 points. Berg and the Adanacs went on to win the Minto Cup. In 2011, Berg finished first in the league in both goals (60) and points (114) and was awarded the Bill Dickinson Trophy as the league's scoring champion. Berg only appeared in 19 regular season games in the following three seasons putting up 98 points during this span. Eamon McEneaney
Eamon James McEneaney (December 23, 1954 – September 11, 2001) was an All-American lacrosse player at Cornell University from 1975 to 1977 and later an employee of Cantor Fitzgerald who died during the September 11 attacks. Lacrosse career McEneaney teamed with Mike French and Dan Mackesey to win the 1976 NCAA Championship, a key part of Cornell teams which won 29 straight games and two straight titles over two seasons. McEneaney was voted the outstanding player in the 1977 NCAA Championship game, while setting an NCAA tournament record with 25 points in three tournament games, with 11 goals and 14 assists, one of the great lacrosse finals performances. McEneaney represented the United States in the 1978 World Lacrosse Championships. McEneaney was inducted into the Cornell Sports Hall of Fame in 1982. Matt Rambo
Matt Rambo (born July 25, 1994) is a professional lacrosse attackman for the Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League from Glenside, Pennsylvania. He played college lacrosse at Maryland. College career Rambo spent four years at the University of Maryland, where he only missed one start his entire career, and reached the final four every year and the championship game in his final three years. Freshman year In Rambo's first game at Maryland, he scored four goals against the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers. He ended the season with 30 goals and six assists. Tom Marechek
Tom "Hollywood" Marechek (born August 25, 1968 in Victoria, British Columbia) is a retired professional lacrosse player. College career Marechek played college lacrosse at Syracuse University where he teamed with Paul and Gary Gait to form one of the great college lacrosse squads in history, winning national title games in 1989 and 1990. Marechek is the fifth leading college goal scorers in lacrosse history with 182 goals, a four-time All-American, three-time first-team All-American pick, had 76 assists and 258 career points, scored 53 goals during his junior season to lead NCAA Division I, and set a Syracuse freshman record by scoring 46 goals on just 82 shots (56.1 per cent). John Zulberti
John F. Zulberti (January 20, 1967 – August 1, 2021) was an American four-time All-American NCAA lacrosse player at Syracuse University from 1986 to 1989. The Orange won the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships in 1988 and 1989 with Zulberti teaming up with perennial all-timers Gary Gait, Paul Gait, and Tom Marechek. He drowned at the age of 54 in August 2021. Syracuse Orange In the 1988 championship, Zulberti teamed with high scoring teammates the Gait brothers and Tom Marechek to lead the Orange to a 13-8 win over Cornell. These same four offensive leaders again teamed up to win the 1989 championship 13 to 12 over Johns Hopkins. Jeff Teat
Jeffrey Steven Teat (born April 30, 1997) is a Canadian lacrosse player for Atlas Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and the New York Riptide of the National Lacrosse League. He is one of three players in lacrosse history to be selected first overall in both the NLL and PLL/MLL drafts. Early life and career Teat is the son of Maria and Dan Teat. Dan played fourteen seasons in the NLL and is currently an assistant coach for Panther City Lacrosse Club. Teat attended The Hill Academy, playing five seasons of lacrosse there, as well as playing Junior A lacrosse for the Brampton Excelsiors, where he recorded 145 points during the regular season in his final season, the most of any OJALL player since John Grant Jr. Teat ended the season with 211 points, including the playoffs where Brampton got to the Ontario League semifinals. Steele Stanwick
Steele Stanwick (born September 12, 1989) is an American former professional lacrosse player who played for the Ohio Machine and Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse. He played his NCAA Division I career at the University of Virginia. He won the Tewaaraton Trophy and the Jack Turnbull Award. Family Stanwick was the fifth of eight children born into a prominent lacrosse family in the Baltimore area, the son of Wells Sr. and Dori Stanwick. His grandfather, Tad, played at St. John's College and wrote a book on the game. Ryan Powell (lacrosse)
Ryan Powell (born February 23, 1978 in West Carthage, New York) is a four-time All-American lacrosse player at Syracuse University and was on the US national team roster in 2006 and 2010. Background Powell did not begin playing organized lacrosse until he was in the seventh grade. He is the second oldest in the family behind his brother Casey Powell, and older than Michael Powell. Powell attended Carthage Senior High School where he was the quarterback for the football team and played on the lacrosse team. In 1996, Powell chose to attend Syracuse University, following his brother Casey. At Syracuse, he was a four-time All-American (his brother Casey was also a four-time All-American). After his college career he was drafted third in the 2000 MLL draft. Casey Powell
Casey Powell (born February 18, 1976) is a Hall of Fame American former college and professional lacrosse player from West Carthage, New York. In 1998, he graduated from Syracuse University, where he was a four-time USILA All-American. Powell was the NCAA Division I Most Outstanding Player in 1997 and 1998. Powell was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2017. Powell played in Major League Lacrosse, the semi-professional field lacrosse league, from its first year in 2001 through 2016, although he played in only 8 games between 2009 and 2013. Yet Powell ranks sixth in goals (243), second in assists (237), and third in points (484) on the MLL career totals list as of 2017. Powell also tops the all-time MLL playoff point chart with 40.
