Diving At The 2017 World Aquatics Championships
Diving at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships was held between 14 and 22 July 2017 in Budapest, Hungary. Events The following events were contested: *1 m springboard *3 m springboard *10 m platform *3 m springboard synchronized *10 m platform synchronized *3 m mixed springboard synchronized *10 m mixed platform synchronized *Team event Individual events consisted of preliminaries, semifinals and finals. The order of divers in the preliminary round was determined by computerized random selection, during the technical meeting. The 18 divers with the highest scores in the preliminaries proceed to the semifinals. The semifinal consisted of the top 18 ranked divers from the preliminary competition and the final consisted of the top 12 ranked divers from the semifinal. Schedule 13 events were held. Chang Yani (; born 7 December 2001) is a Chinese diver. Chang won all four legs of the 2016 FINA Diving World Series in the 10 metre mixed platform synchronized event together with Tai Xiaohu. In the 2017 FINA Diving World Series Chang won two gold medals in the women's synchronized 10 metre platform event together with Ren Qian. Together with Shi Tingmao she won two gold medals in the women's synchronized 3 metre springboard event. The pair became world champions at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest. Cheong Jun Hoong () (born 16 April 1990) is a Malaysian diver. She won a silver medal in the synchronised 10m platform event with Pandelela Rinong at the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2017 World Aquatics Championships, she became Malaysia's first diving world champion after winning the 10m platform event. Early and personal life Cheong Jun Hoong was born in Ipoh, Perak. Jennifer Abel
Jennifer Abel (born August 23, 1991) is a Canadian former diver. She is currently partnered with Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu for synchronized diving. She won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 3 m synchro diving event with Émilie Heymans and a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the same event with Melissa Citrini-Beaulieu. Wang Han (; born 24 January 1991) is a retired Chinese diver who specialises in the 1 meter and 3 meter springboard events. Shi Tingmao (; born 31 August 1991) is a Chinese diver representing Chongqing diving team. She has been dominant in the 3 metre springboard events in the 2010s.
