The women's synchronised 10 metre platform diving competition at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place on 31 July at the Aquatics Centre within the Olympic Park. The Chinese team of Chen Ruolin and Wang Hao won the gold medal. Format A single round was held, with each team making five dives. Eleven judges scored each dive: three for each diver, and five for synchronisation. Only the middle score counted for each diver, with the middle three counting for synchronisation. These five scores were averaged, multiplied by 3, and multiplied by the dive's degree of difficulty to give a total dive score. London Aquatics Centre
The London Aquatics Centre is an indoor facility with two swimming pools and a diving pool in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London. The centre, designed by architect Zaha Hadid as one of the main venues of the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics, was used for the swimming, diving and synchronised swimming events. After significant modification, the centre opened to the public in March 2014. Dato Pandelela Rinong Pamg, (born 2 March 1993) is a Malaysian diver. She has won two Olympic medals and seven World Championships medals. Pandelela represented Malaysia at the 2008 Summer Olympics where she finished 27th in 10m platform. She won the gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She was chosen to be the flagbearer of Malaysia at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Leong Mun Yee
Datuk Leong Mun Yee (, born 4 December 1984) is a retired Malaysian diver. She competed at the 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics with the best result of seventh place in the 10 m synchronised platform event in 2012. Her appearance at the 2008 Summer Olympics made her the first Malaysian diver to compete at three Olympics. The bronze medal that she and Pandelela Rinong won at the 2009 World Championships was the first World Championship medal for Malaysia. Nora Subschinski (born 5 June 1988 in East Berlin, East Germany) is a German diver. She participates in the 3m springboard and 10m platform competitions. She won the bronze medal at the 2007 and 2011 world championships. She won four gold and four silver medals at the LEN European Aquatics Championships, together with her 24 German championships. Tonia Couch
Tonia Couch (born 20 May 1989) is a former British Olympic diver. Biography Tonia Couch was born in Plymouth. She had been a fairly accomplished competitive gymnast when she participated in diving for a "trial" in September 1999. Just four weeks later, she won her first competition, a novice event at Crystal Palace in London. In February 2002, she became the youngest girl ever to qualify for the lottery funded Junior Olympic Programme, when she took bronze in the Junior girls platform event at the British Championships. It was at that point that her talent on the platform was really recognised. She participated at the 2005 and 2007 World Championships, finishing 25th in the 10 m platform in both. Sarah Barrow (born 22 October 1988) is a British retired diver who competed in several LEN European Aquatics Championships and Commonwealth Games, where she won multiple medals.
