Dium Promontorium
Korakias or Cape Korakias ( el, Άκρα Κορακιάς, Akra Korakias) is a headland in northern Crete; the northwest extremity of the bay of Bali. It is identified with the ancient promontory called Dium or Dion ( grc, Δίον ἄκρον, Dion akron, la, Dium promontorium). It has been supposed by some authors that the ancient city of Dium, spoken of by Pliny the Elder Gaius Plinius Secundus (AD 23/2479), called Pliny the Elder (), was a Roman author, naturalist and natural philosopher, and naval and army commander of the early Roman Empire, and a friend of the emperor Vespasian.
