''Displaced Persons'' is a 1985 Australian TV movie about refugees arriving in Australia in 1945.Ed. Scott Murray, ''Australia on the Small Screen 1970-1995'', Oxford Uni Press, 1996 p45 It was the first script written by Louis Nowra, who was inspired by a book he read about displaced people in Australia after World War Two. Louis Nowra
Mark Doyle, better known by his stage name Louis Nowra, (born 12 December 1950) is an Australian writer, playwright, screenwriter and librettist. He is best known as one of Australia's leading playwrights. His works have been performed by all of Australia's major theatre companies, including Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre Company, State Theatre Company of South Australia, Belvoir, and many others, and have also had many international productions. His most significant plays are ''Così'', ''Radiance'' (both of which he turned into films), ''Byzantine Flowers'', ''Summer of the Aliens'' and '' The Golden Age''. John Wood (born 14 July 1946) is an Australian television Gold Logie Award-winning actor and scriptwriter. Wood has appeared in numerous theatre and TV productions, but is best known for his roles in the legal drama ''Rafferty's Rules'' as Stipendiary Magistrate Michael Rafferty and in the long-running police drama ''Blue Heelers'', as Tom Croydon both for the Seven Network.
