Disney Time
''Disney Time'' is a television series that ran in the UK on the BBC, and also ITV at one point between 1961 and 1998. It was a regular holiday schedule filler. Clips of Disney films were introduced by celebrity hosts, which over the years included Paul and Linda McCartney, Noel Edmonds, Sarah Greene, '' Doctor Whos Tom Baker, The Goodies and Phillip Schofield. The following (incomplete) list is of programmes broadcast on BBC1. Walter Elias Disney (; December 5, 1901December 15, 1966) was an American animator, film producer and entrepreneur. A pioneer of the American animation industry, he introduced several developments in the production of cartoons. ''Babes in Toyland'' is a 1961 American Christmas musical film directed by Jack Donohue and distributed to theatres by Buena Vista Distribution. It stars Ray Bolger as Barnaby, Tommy Sands as Tom Piper, Annette Funicello as Mary Contrary and Ed Wynn as the Toymaker. The film is based upon Victor Herbert's popular 1903 operetta '' Babes in Toyland''. There had been a 1934 film also titled '' Babes in Toyland'' starring Laurel and Hardy, and three television adaptations prior to the Disney film, but Disney's was only the second film version of the operetta released to movie theatres and the first in Technicolor. Sean Scully (born 28 September 1947) is an Australian actor, active in film and television, most especially serials. Early life The son of actress and radio host Margaret Christensen, Scully was born in Sydney, New South Wales. Career Scully began his acting career at the age of 12 in the 1960 Children's Film Foundation film ''Hunted in Holland'', which won the Diploma of Honour at the Cannes Film Festival. Armando Joseph Catalano (January 14, 1924 – April 30, 1989), better known as Guy Williams, was an American actor. He played swashbuckling action heroes in the 1950s and 1960s. Among his most notable achievements were two TV series: ''Zorro (1957 TV series), Zorro'' in the title role, and as the father of the Robinson family on the popular sci-fi series ''Lost in Space''.
