Discovery Kids UK
Discovery Kids was a British and Irish pay television channel. The channel initially began broadcasting exclusively on the On Digital service time sharing with Discovery Wings, an aviation-focused channel similarly created initially as an On Digital exclusive. The channel eventually became available on other digital platforms such as Sky Digital, and Virgin Media. Discovery Kids and Discovery Wings were both closed down at midnight on 28 February 2007, to be replaced by Discovery Turbo the following day. Discovery Kids was replaced with an online broadband video service called Discovery Kids On Demand, not updated since the closure of the TV channel. Carlton Kids
Carlton Kids was a British digital terrestrial pay television kids channel, provided by Carlton Television, which started broadcasting in November 1998 and closed in February 2000. Its sister channels were Carlton Food Network, Carlton World, Carlton Cinema and Carlton Select. It broadcast exclusively on ONdigital, the digital terrestrial pay-TV platform backed by Carlton and Granada, where it timeshared on channel 34 with Carlton World. The channel had limited coverage, reaching only 69% of the population via the lowest-powered terrestrial multiplex D, and newspapers and listings magazines were slow to feature the channel's programming. Mystery Hunters
''Mystery Hunters'' is a Canadian documentary television series aimed at a young audience. It aired on YTV in Canada and on Discovery Kids and MeTV in the United States. It was also dubbed in Japanese and aired in Japan on NHK. Teenage hosts Araya and Christina investigate paranormal or global historical reports of mysteries such as legendary creatures/monsters, disembodied spirits, dinosaurs and aliens/unidentified flying objects. They use scientific rigour to try to find plausible explanations for the sightings and eye-witness accounts that trigger their investigations. In another section of the show, Doubting Dave, a scientist played by David Acer, attempts to explain mysterious personal experiences that have been emailed in by viewers, in a feature called "V-Files", as well as a way to create your own versions of the mysteries in the show in his "Mystery Lab" segment. Discovery Kids
Discovery Kids (stylized as Discovery K!ds) is a brand name owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. Starting as a television segment within the Discovery Channel, the brand expanded as a separate television channel. Most of its worldwide channels were either rebranded or shut down, but the brand still exists as a website for children's activities and consumer products. As of 2022, Discovery Kids-branded channels exist in India, Latin America, and the United States as a Spanish-language daytime programming block on Discovery Familia. Discovery Channel (often referred to as simply Discovery) is a British pay television channel, operated by Warner Bros. Discovery Its programming is based on programming produced by Discovery Networks Europe, Discovery Channel Canada and Discovery Channel from the United States. History It first became available in the UK on 1 April 1989 when Discovery Channel Europe was launched. It was the first extension of the Discovery Channel outside the United States. DMAX (UK TV Channel)
DMAX is a British free-to-air male-oriented TV channel in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Discovery launched the channel in the UK and Ireland market on 8 January 2008 after its initial success in Germany. On 16 July 2015, DMAX moved from 144 to 167 on Sky, switching places with sister channel Quest. Following the re-combination of the Entertainment and Lifestyle & Culture sections of the Sky guide, Discovery relocated some of their stations on the platform, resulting in DMAX being pushed down the grid to allow Discovery Home & Health to be moved up.
