William Henry Cosby Jr. ( ; born July 12, 1937) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and media personality. He made significant contributions to American and African-American culture, and is well known in the United States for his eccentric image, and gained a reputation as "America's Dad" for his portrayal of Cliff Huxtable on ''The Cosby Show'' (1984–1992). He has received numerous awards and honorary degrees throughout his career. Cosby began his career as a stand-up comic at the hungry i nightclub in San Francisco during the 1960s. Stuart Gardner is an American musician and composer. He is known for his collaborations with Bill Cosby, and for co-writing "Kiss Me", the theme song of Cosby's sitcom ''The Cosby Show''. He produced the album '' A House Full of Love: Music from The Cosby Show'', and was the musical director of '' Cos'', ''The Cosby Show'' and its spin-off, ''A Different World''. Career Gardner appeared in the 1967 film ''Point Blank'' as the singer in the nightclub scene, singing, "Mighty Good Times", which was written by Gardner, and appears on the film's soundtrack album. In 1971, Gardner had a record album out, ''Big Mouth'' which was produced by David Briggs. Among the musicians playing on the album were Kent Sprague and Gary Stovall.
