The release came seven years after their second album '' Neo Wave'' and was their first release on the Invisible Hands label. The album was unusual in that lead vocalist James Broad recorded the album single-handedly, whilst the rest of the band were continuing to work on various other side projects. However, the band continued to work together on live gigs to promote the album. Silver Sun are a British power pop band, who formed in 1995 in Camden, London. They released their self-titled debut album in 1997, and after two major label releases that saw moderate success, the band released two further albums independently. Their sound is a combination of harder-edged alternative rock and classic power pop, with an emphasis on multi-layered vocal harmonies. Career They were initially called Sun..! and released their first EP under that name. They were forced to alter the name soon afterwards, and chose 'Silver' after The Beatles' original name, 'The Silver Beetles', also The Beatles` song "It`s All Too Much" from "Yellow Submarine" has a line 'Set me on a silver sun, for I know that I'm free'. The single "Lava" was their first under the new name. Groups such as Super Furry Animals also wrote music in a similar style at the time, although there are also notable parallels with US bands such as Jellyfish and the earlier output of Weezer. Power pop (also typeset as powerpop) is a form of pop rock based on the early music of bands such as the Who, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and the Byrds. Invisible Hands Music is a UK-based independent record label. The label is owned and run entirely by Charles Kennedy who started out by self-releasing cassettes sold at gigs by his first band 'Night World' in 1987. The first CD release was ''Fretwork Southeast'', a compilation album of local bands from Southwest London in 1993. After three more CDs in the series, and an eponymous debut album by Kennedy's alias The Aries Project, the label moved into signing legacy artists starting with Wishbone Ash, and singer-songwriter, Rob Reynolds. Other releases in the 1990s, distributed by Pinnacle in the UK, included electro compilations such as ''Speed Garage Invasion'' and ''Drum n Bass Invasion''. ''Neo Wave'' is the second album by the British power pop band Silver Sun, released in 1998. It contains a cover version of the Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams number-one US hit "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late". The album reached No. 74 in the UK albums chart. ''Dad's Weird Dream'' was the fourth studio album from British band Silver Sun The album was first released in Japan, where the band has steadily built a large fan base. Unlike its predecessor Disappear Here, the album was recorded by the whole band, though drummer Richard Sayce is only credited with backing vocals as Programmed Drums were used. The album was remixed for the UK version of the album where it was released on 4 December 2006. Founded by editor Sean Adams, the site features reviews, news, interviews, and discussion forums.
