Dirty Mind
''Dirty Mind'' is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Prince. It was released on October 8, 1980, by Warner Bros. Records and produced entirely by Prince at his home studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota earlier that year from May to June. ''Dirty Mind'' has been considered by critics to be his most creative and boldest album, setting the standard for his artistic direction in the following years. A fusion of post-disco, new wave, funk and dance, ''Dirty Mind'' has more punk sounds than Prince's previous albums. Prince’s high and feminine vocals, along with his androgynous image during the album's era, has been commended. Funk
Funk is a music genre that originated in African American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of various music genres that were popular among African Americans in the mid-20th century.
