Dirty Hit is a British independent record label founded in December 2009 by Jamie Oborne, Brian Smith, and former England footballer, Ugo Ehiogu. It is currently based in West London, England. Their releases are distributed to digital platforms by Ingrooves Music Group. Since Dirty Hit's inception, Oborne has been the main driving force behind the label. Previously part of a signed band, he moved into artist management aiming to provide artist support. Providing a platform for two acts that Oborne managed, was the main motivation behind starting the label. Both The 1975 and Benjamin Francis Leftwich thus became the first signings. Benjamin Francis Leftwich
Benjamin Francis Leftwich (born 4 September 1989) is an English singer-songwriter from York. Leftwich released his first album '' Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm'' in 2011 which peaked at #35 on the UK charts. In February 2016 he announced his next album ''After the Rain'' on his Facebook page, released on 19 August 2016. Most recently, Leftwich has released four single cover-tracks: ''Pure Morning (''Placebo''), Rebellion (Lies) (''Arcade Fire''), When You Were Young (''The Killers''),'' and ''Because of Toledo (''The Blue Nile'').'' Early life Leftwich began playing at the age of ten and grew up listening to The Rolling Stones and Nina Simone; later discovering Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, and Elliott Smith. Blackstarkids
Blackstarkids, sometimes stylised as BLACKSTARKIDS, is an American hip-hop/indie rock/pop band from Kansas City, Missouri. The band consists of The Babe Gabe, TyFaizon, and Deiondre. They blend the music styles of hip-hop, indie rock and pop. They have been described as "1990s nostalgia reinterpreted for a new generation." History The group grew up in Raytown, a suburb just outside Kansas City where they all attended high school. Their members met when they were about 15-16 years old. TyFaizon had been working separately with The Babe Gabe and Deiondre on different projects, then subsequently brought the three together to form the Blackstarkids in January 2019. Caleb Stephenson (born December 21, 1998), better known by his stage name Caleb Steph, is an American rapper from Newport News, Virginia. Career Caleb started making music at the age of 12. When he was 16 he started taking music more seriously as a career. Caleb began uploading his music onto SoundCloud in early 2015. In 2017, he receives the attention of Dirty Hit and ends up signing with them. In February 2019, Caleb released his debut single "Can I Talk" under Dirty Hit. QTY is an American indie rock band from New York City, signed to Dirty Hit Records. The group originally consisted of singers and guitarists Dan Lardner and Alex Niemetz, as well as bassist Peter Baumann and drummer Alan Yuch. Wallice Hana Watanabe, known mononymously as Wallice, is an American singer-songwriter. She is based in Los Angeles, which is where she was born and raised. Early life Wallice was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, she attended The New School in New York City, where she majored in jazz performance and voice before dropping out to pursue music as a full-time career, which she references in her song 23. Pale Waves
Pale Waves are an English rock band from Manchester, formed in 2014. It was founded originally as Creek when lead singer and guitarist Heather Baron-Gracie met drummer Ciara Doran while attending university in Manchester. The other members are guitarist Hugo Silvani and bassist Charlie Wood, completing the lineup.
