Dipped Products PLC is a rubber glove manufacturer in Sri Lanka. The company also manages rubber and tea plantations. The company was incorporated in 1976 and listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange in 1983. The company is one of the components of the S&P Sri Lanka 20 Index. This is a list of largest publicly traded companies on Colombo Stock Exchange by market capitalisation in Sri Lanka. Only the top 50 companies are listed below. List These 50 companies alone account for about 75% of the total market capitalisation of the Colombo Stock Exchange. On January 4, 2021, total market capitalisation crossed three trillion rupees mark for the first time. Hayleys announced a stock split on January 21 of 2021 and it resulted in increasing market capitalization by over 100 billion rupees. Wijeya Newspapers Limited (WNL) is a Sri Lankan media company which publishes a number of national newspapers and magazines. Formerly known as Wijeya Publications Limited, WNL was founded in 1979 by Ranjith Wijewardene, son of media mogul D. R. Wijewardena. Ranjith Wijewardene had been chairman of Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited before it was taken over by the government in July 1973. Ranjith Wijewardene bought the trade names and library of the Times of Ceylon Limited (TOCL) group after it closed down in January 1985. Top Glove Corporation Berhad is a Malaysian rubber glove manufacturer who also specialises in face masks, dental dams, and other products. The company owns and operates 50 manufacturing facilities in Malaysia, Thailand, China, and Vietnam. They also have marketing offices in these countries as well as the United States, Germany and Brazil. History The company was founded in Malaysia in 1991 by Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, with one production line and staff comprising 100 people. Wee Chai's parents are rubber plantation owners and traders.
