Diplomatic Quarter (Taiwan)
The Diplomatic Quarter () is a building that houses most of Taiwan's foreign embassies, as well as the headquarters of the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF). It is located in the Tianmu neighbourhood of Shilin District in the capital Taipei. Additionally, the term may refer to the area around this building, for example in the context of the housing market. Shilin District
Shilin District (also spelled Shihlin District, zh, t=士林區, p=Shìlínqū, poj=Sū-lîm-khu) is a district of Taipei. The central command center of the Republic of China Navy (ROCN) is located in Shilin. History The name ''Shilin'' was derived from ''Pattsiran'', the indigenous Ketagalan word for "hot springs". It was then transliterated into Chinese as "" (), which has been written as ''Pat-chi-na'' or ''Pachina''. National Taiwan University Hospital
The National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH; ) is a medical facility located in the Zhongzheng District of Taipei, Taiwan. It started operations under Japanese rule in Daitōtei (today's Dadaocheng) on 18 June 1895, and moved to its present location in 1898. The hospital was later annexed to the Medical School of Taihoku Imperial University in 1937. The present name was adopted in 1945 upon its affiliation with National Taiwan University. On 19 October 1991, a large new building complex on the so-called ''East Site'' was completed.
