''Diplomatic Passport'' is a 1954 British thriller film directed by Gene Martel and starring Marsha Hunt (actress, born 1917), Marsha Hunt, Paul Carpenter (actor), Paul Carpenter, Henry Oscar and Honor Blackman. The film stars Hollywood actress Marsha Hunt , who was blacklisted during the McCarthyite era of the early 1950s. Like others in the same position, Hunt was obliged to seek work in the United Kingdom. Produced as a second featureChibnall & McFarlane p.176 it was made at MGM's Elstree Studios near London. Roy Rich
Roy Rich (16 September 1911 – 24 March 1970) was a British broadcaster and film and theatre director. Life and career Rich was born in Plymouth, Devon, the son of a music hall comedian. Educated at Dulwich College, southeast London, Rich became involved in acting from an early age, making his theatrical debut in 1923. He was subsequently involved in theatre for several years. He was a pioneering broadcaster for the BBC, as one of the first radio DJs. During the Second World War, he was standing in as a news announcer when Broadcasting House was hit by a bomb during the 9pm news broadcast. He presented ''Children Calling Home'', a series of wartime radio broadcasts featuring conversations between evacuees and their parents. In 1964, he became head of BBC Light Entertainments (Sound), a post which he held until his retirement in 1967. Death Rich died from cancer in hospital in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1970, aged 58. Cyril Edward Bruce-Smith (4 April 1892 – 5 March 1963) was a Scottish actor who began his career as a child in 1900 and went on to appear in numerous stage plays as well as over 100 films between 1914 and his death almost 50 years later. The son of Frederick and Elsa Smith; his mother travelled with him on his engagements during his boyhood. Career Smith first became known as a child stage actor in 1900, and by the age of 13 in 1905, he travelled to New York to appear as Cosmo in a production of the J. M. Barrie play ''Alice-Sit-By-The Fire'', opposite Ethel Barrymore; at the time, ''The New York Times'' hailed him as "one of the best-known child actors in England".
