Dipankar Banerjee
Dipankar Banerjee is a retired major general of the Indian Army based in India. He is the founding director of the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (based in Indian capital New Delhi). Military career Gen Bannerjee is an alumnus of the prestigious RIMC (Rashtriya Indian Military College). Banerjee served in the Indian Army for 36 years from 1961 until his voluntary retirement in 1997. He was commissioned into the 2nd Battalion The 1st Gorkha Rifles and later commanded 5th Battalion The 1st Gorkha Rifles. During his service he held many key command, staff and instructional appointments in India, including command of 8 Mountain Division in Kashmir. He attended the Staff College in Camberley, UK. His last active command in the army was as the Divisional Commander during 1992–1993. Dipankar Banerjee (metallurgist)
Dipankar Banerjee (born 15 February 1952) is an Indian physical metallurgist, materials engineer and a former chief controller of R&D at the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Known for his studies on titanium alloys, Banerjee is an elected fellow of all the three major Indian science academies namely Indian Academy of Sciences, Indian National Science Academy and National Academy of Sciences, India as well as the Indian National Academy of Engineering. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards for his contributions to Engineering Sciences in 1993. Dibakar Banerjee (born 21 June 1969) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer and advertisement-filmmaker known for his work in Hindi films. Banerjee started his career in advertising, being a feature filmmaker, he still continues to be an ad-filmmaker. He also runs his own film production company, Dibakar Banerjee Productions. As a film maker, he is known for ''Khosla Ka Ghosla'' (2006), ''Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!'' (2008), both of which won National Film Awards.
