Diogo Portela
Diogo Portela (born 12 June 1988) is a Brazilian professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and World Darts Federation (WDF) events. Career Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Portela first came into prominence in 2015 when he appeared on the Sky1 darts show '' One Hundred and Eighty'', where with the help of James Wade, he won £16,000. His first foray into professional darts was when he tried to win a PDC Tour Card in 2017, but while he failed to do so, he did some other firsts, such as becoming the first Brazilian to win a PDC European Tour match when he defeated Martin Schindler in the first round of the German Darts Championship. In June 2017, he and Alexandre Sattin became the first pair to represent Brazil in the World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt, Germany. The 2017 Betway World Cup of Darts was the seventh edition of the PDC World Cup of Darts. It took place between 1–4 June 2017 at the Eissporthalle in Frankfurt, Germany. The England pairing of Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis were the reigning champions, after beating the Netherlands' Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld 3–2 in the 2016 final. Joshua James Payne (born 25 November 1990) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder. The 2020 PDC World Darts Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the 2020 William Hill World Darts Championship) was the 27th World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event took place at Alexandra Palace in London from 13 December 2019 to 1 January 2020. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion, after defeating Michael Smith 7–3 in the 2019 final. The 2019 BetVictor World Cup of Darts was the ninth edition of the PDC World Cup of Darts. It took place from 6–9 June 2019 at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Players Championship Finals
The Players Championship Finals is a darts tournament organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. The tournament originally featured the top 32 players from the Players Championship Order of Merit, a separate ranking system that only takes into account the non-televised Players Championship events on the PDC Pro Tour. In 2016, the field increased to 64 players. The tournament was first announced at the PDC Awards Dinner in January 2008 by PDC chairman Barry Hearn. It was initially held from late January to February, and originally took place at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, the venue for the first 14 PDC World Championships. Ronnie “Ron” Meulenkamp (born 5 November 1988) is a Dutch darts player playing in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career Meulenkamp was runner-up in both the 2011 Isle of Man Open and England Open. He was also a semi-finalist in the 2011 Mariflex Open, a quarter-finalist in the 2011 German Open and Belgium Open. He also enjoyed quarter-final spots in the 2010 Winmau World Masters and 2010 Zuiderduin Masters and reached the Last 16 in the 2011 BDO British Open and BDO International Open. 2019 PDC World Darts Championship
The 2019 William Hill World Darts Championship was the 26th World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event took place at Alexandra Palace in London from 13 December 2018 to 1 January 2019. In the biggest overhaul since 2006, when 16 extra participants were added, the number of participants increased from 72 to 96. The top 32 from the PDC Order of Merit competed with the 32 highest ranked players on the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit and 32 qualifiers from around the world, including two female darts players. The tournament length was consequently increased from six to seven rounds, while the preliminary round was dropped. Peter Wright (darts Player)
Peter Wright (born 10 March 1970) is a Scottish professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), where he is currently ranked No. 2 in the world. Nicknamed "Snakebite", he is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and is a two-time world champion, having won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2020 and 2022. He is also a World Matchplay champion.
