As of October 5, 2021, the Catholic Church in its entirety comprises 3,171 ecclesiastical jurisdictions, including over 652 archdioceses and 2,248 dioceses, as well as apostolic vicariates, apostolic exarchates, apostolic administrations, apostolic prefectures, military ordinariates, personal ordinariates, personal prelatures, territorial prelatures, territorial abbacies and missions ''sui juris'' around the world. Jorge Ignacio García Cuerva
The Most Reverend Mons. Don Jorge Ignacio García Cuerva (Río Gallegos, Argentina, April 12, 1968)  is the Argentine Roman Catholic Archbishop. He has been appointed as Metropolitan Archbishop and the Primate of Argentina since 2023. He replaced his predecessor, Mario Aurelio Poli, because of his resignation.  Prior to that, he was the Bishop of Río Gallegos from 2019 to 2023 and the Auxiliary Bishop of Lomas de Zamora from 2017 to 2019.  He is a prelate with advanced academic degrees in theology, law and canon law. Carlos María Franzini (September 6, 1951 – December 8, 2017) was a prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as bishop of Rafaela from 2000 until 2012, when he became archbishop of Mendoza.
