Dinç Bilgin
Dinç Bilgin (born 1940) is a Turkish businessman who built up a media empire which was voluntarily handed over to the Turkish government in 2008 over alleged financial irregularities relating to Etibank. These companies were later sold by TMSF for $ 1.1 Billion. He founded a number of newspapers including ''Sabah'' (1985) and ''Takvim'' (1994), and a number of television stations, including ATV (1993). Turkish Government
The Government of Turkey ( tr, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Hükûmeti) is the national government of Turkey. Cavit Çağlar (born 1944, Komotini, Greece) is a Turkish businessman and politician. He was elected to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) for the True Path Party (DYP) in 1991, serving as a Minister of State responsible for state-owned banks ( 51st and 52nd government of Turkey). He resigned from the DYP in 1996, remaining in parliament as an independent until 1999. He had been a major financial contributor to the political comeback of President Suleyman Demirel. In 2004 he was sentenced to three years ten months for bank fraud. Early life Çağlar was born in Komotini, Greece to ethnic Turks, moving to Turkey when he was still at school. Etibank A.Ş is a defunct Turkish bank. Founded in 1935 as a state bank focussed on financing the electricity sector, it launched commercial banking activities in 1955. The commercial banking division was separated out in 1993 (from what would become Eti Mine Works), and privatised on 2 March 1998 to Medya İpek Holding A.Ş., co-owned by Cavit Çağlar and Dinç Bilgin, for $155m. Korkmaz Yiğit (born 1943, in Erzincan) is a Turkish businessman. He made his fortune in construction, and expanded into finance and media, but fell rapidly from grace in 1998 when apparent connections with mob figure Alaattin Çakıcı were revealed. Career After making his fortune in construction, Yiğit sought to move into finance in the mid-1990s. He bid in the privatization tender for Etibank, and after this was unsuccessful bought Bankekspres from Doğuş Holding for $100m in March 1997. In 1998, he acquired private television stations Kanal E and Tele 4, and then Kanal 6 (the latter for $110m).
