Dinner And A Movie (album)
''Dinner and a Movie'' is the sixth studio album by American rapper Brotha Lynch Hung. It was released on March 23, 2010, by Strange Music. Commercial performance The album debuted at number 69 on the US ''Billboard'' 200, selling 7,900 copies in its first week of release. It is his best debut on the charts since his album '' Loaded'' (1997). ''Dinner and a Movie'' sold 3,100 copies in its second week of sales, bringing total sales to 11,000 copies. According to an interview with the Strange Music Travis O’Guin, the album was under-shipped by retailers. Strange Music was planning to have this shipped between 35,000 and 40,000 copies, and yet it only have sold 12,120 units that were shipped due to difficulties with their distributor, Universal Fontana. Brotha Lynch Hung
Kevin Danell Mann (born January 10, 1970), better known by his stage name Brotha Lynch Hung, is an American rapper, songwriter and record producer from Sacramento, California who has been described as "the creator of horrorcore rap." He is also a former 24th Street Garden Blocc Crip gang member which is a Crip affiliated street gang based in Meadowview, Sacramento. Early life Mann grew up in Sacramento. He became a fan of east coast rappers such as Rakim and Slick Rick. He started rapping at the age of 13. He became a member of the 24 Street Garden Blocc Crips by age 16 during the 1980s. "Brotha" is a song by American singer Angie Stone, which appears on her second studio album, ''Mahogany Soul'' (2001). Tha Dogg Pound is an American hip hop duo made up of rappers Kurupt and Daz Dillinger. They were signed to Death Row Records in their early careers and were key to the label's success. Kurupt and Daz went on to release solo albums starting in 1998. They eventually left the crumbling Death Row Records in 1999. Daz left due to long-lasting internal struggles on the label after friend and labelmate Tupac Shakur's murder in 1996. Kurupt started Antra Records, while Daz and Soopafly started D.P.G. Recordz. Samuel William Christopher Watson IV (born March 7, 1974), better known by his stage name Krizz Kaliko, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and voice actor. He is a longtime collaborator with fellow hometown native Tech N9ne and was signed to Strange Music from its inception in 1999 up to forming his own label Ear House Inc. in 2021. Aaron Dontez Yates (born November 8, 1971), better known by his stage name Tech N9ne (pronounced "tech nine"), is an American rapper. In 1999, he and business partner Travis O'Guin founded the record label Strange Music. He has sold over two million albums and has had his music featured in film, television, and video games. In 2009, he won the Left Field Woodie award at the mtvU Woodie Awards. His stage name originated from the TEC-9 semi-automatic handgun, a name given to him by rapper Black Walt due to his fast-rhyming chopper style.
