Dink Trout
Francis "Dink" Trout (June 18, 1898 – March 26, 1950) was an American actor, voice artist and radio personality. Early years Trout was born in 1898 in Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois. Radio In 1927, Trout had his own musical program on WOR in Newark, New Jersey. Much of his career involved playing characters in American radio shows. He was heard as Waldo Binney on ''The Life of Riley'', as Mr. Anderson on ''The Dennis Day Show'' and as Luke Spears on ''Lum and Abner''. He was also heard in ''The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet'', the ''Cass Daley Show'', ''The Nebbs'',Sies, Luther F. (2014). ''Encyclopedia of American Radio, 1920-1960, 2nd Edition, Volume 1''. Beardstown is a city in Cass County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,951 at the 2020 census. The public schools are in Beardstown Community Unit School District 15. Geography Beardstown is located at (40.012189, -90.428711) on the Illinois River. According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Beardstown has a total area of , of which (or 99.21%) is land and (or 0.79%) is water. Economy Beardstown is located on the Illinois River, which plays an important role in the economy and history of the community, and is the site of two grain terminals where farm products are transferred to barges for transport. ''Scattergood Baines'' is a 1941 American comedy-drama film. It is based on a novel by Clarence Budington Kelland. The character of Scattergood was also popular during the days of live radio. In the film, Guy Kibbee plays the title character. The plot has him choosing the small New England town of Cold River to settle down in and, twenty years later, his outmaneuvering of the townspeople both when it comes to large matters (ownership of the local railroad) and small (the pretty new schoolteacher's hair). ''It's a Great Life'' is a 1943 black-and-white film and is the 13th of the 28 Blondie films. It is one of only two movies in the series that did not feature "Blondie" in the title (the other, ''Footlight Glamour'', was released later the same year). Plot At home, Dagwood Bumstead mishears his boss, Mr. Dithers, giving him an order on the phone. He is to negotiate a price to buy a certain house from its owner (who also has a horse for sale). With the bedlam in the house, Mr. Dithers has to raise his voice to be heard. Dagwood only clearly hears the end of the call when Dithers states he is "getting a little hoarse."
