Dingle GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Kerry, Ireland. They compete in the Kerry Senior Football Championship and wear red and white. The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC) ( ga, Craobh Shinsir Peile na hÉireann) is the premier competition in Gaelic football. An annual tournament organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), it is contested by the county teams in All-Ireland. The first tournament was held in 1887; it has been held every year since 1889. Each tournament ends with a final, played by the 35th Sunday of the year at Croke Park in Dublin, with the winning team receiving the Sam Maguire Cup. 2015 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship
The 2015 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship is the GAA's premier inter-county Gaelic football competition for under 18's. 31 teams take part. The defending champions were Kerry who defeated Donegal in the 2014 final. Kerry retained their title with a comprehensive 4-14 to 0-06 win over Munster rivals Tipperary. Teams A total of 31 teams will contest the championship. Kilkenny, New York and London do not participate in the competition. Mark O'Connor (sportsman)
Mark O'Connor ( ga, Marc Ó Conchúir; born 17 January 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life O'Connor is a native of Daingean Uí Chúis, a town in an Irish-speaking region of County Kerry, Ireland. Mark is the oldest of a set of triplets, with his identical sisters Sinead & Brydie still living in Ireland. Prior to leaving for Australia, O'Connor studied commerce at University College Cork. Tom O'Sullivan (Dingle Gaelic Footballer)
Thomas O'Sullivan (born 1 November 1996) is an Irish Gaelic footballer. At club level he plays with Dingle, and at inter-county level with the Kerry senior football team. Career O'Sullivan first played Gaelic football to a high standard as a schoolboy at Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne. He was part of the school team that won back-to-back Hogan Cup titles in 2014 and 2015, while he was also part of four Corn Uí Mhuirí-winning teams. At club level, O'Sullivan plays with Dingle. After a Kerry MFC success in 2014, he has since gone on to win numerous West Kerry SFC titles, as well as a Kerry Club FC title in 2015. The 1994 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship was the 63rd staging of the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament for boys under the age of 18. Cork entered the championship as defending champions, however, they were defeated by Kerry in the Munster semi-final. Jack Ferriter
Jack Ferriter is a former Gaelic footballer from Dingle, County Kerry. He was a member of several Kerry underage teams in the 1990s with Dingle CBS, Dingle GAA, and Kerry (Minor, U-21, Junior, and Senior). He was described as a 'star' and a 'teen sensation' when Kerry won an All Ireland Minor title in 1994 with him as captain, and until 2014 was the last Kerry man to do so. Vincent O'Connor
Vincent 'Shin' O'Connor (born 1957 in Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland) is an Irish former sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club Dingle and was a member of the Kerry senior inter-county team from 1977 until 1984. He was a selector under Páidí Ó Sé during his time a Clare manager. Club At club level he lined out with Dingle and West Kerry. He won back to back Kerry Senior Football Championship titles in 1984/85 with West Kerry. Diarmuid Murphy
Diarmuid Murphy (born 22 August 1975 in Dingle, County Kerry) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for his local club Dingle and was the goalkeeper at senior level on the Kerry county football team from 2004 until 2009. In August 2010 it was announced that Murphy would join the Kerry management as a selector under coach Jack O'Connor. Playing career Under 21 Murphy was part of the Kerry Under 21 team in 1994 but lost out to Cork in the Munster championship. He was still underage in 1995. He played no part in the Munster championship winning campaign, but returned to the team for the All-Ireland semi-final with Donegal that Kerry won. Murphy was the team's captain for the All-Ireland final with Mayo. The game ended in a 2-12 to 3-09 draw, Kerry won the re-play 3-10 to 1-12 to give Murphy an All-Ireland title as captain.
