Dinesh Kaushik (politician)
Dinesh Kaushik (born 13 April 1960) is an independent politician and current Member of Legislative Assembly in Haryana, India. He represents Pundri constituency in the Haryana Legislative Assembly. Career Author and academic D. C. Verma, in his book ''Haryana'', highlights Kaushik's mobilising efforts in Karnal since the late 1980s. Verma notes that he campaigned and organised for more than a decade in the area without stepping into electoral politics. The Pundri constituency in Haryana has consistently elected independent MLAs since 1996. Kaushik won it as such a candidate in the 2005 state assembly elections Kaushik was among nine former independent MLAs from the state who joined the Indian National Congress party after those elections. Pundri
Pundri is a City and a municipal committee, near Kaithal City in Kaithal district of the Indian state of Haryana. Pundri along with Pundrak was named after the sage Pundarik, who is highly revered by all Hindus. Pundri is the seat of a Tehsil and also a Haryana Vidhan Sabha constituency currently represented by Randhir Singh Gollen. Pundri is also known for its Firni, a sweet which is so popular that nearly 100 quintals of it are sold in the month of August around the festival of Teej. Sudhanshu Kaushik (born 13 April 1995, in Opelika, Alabama) is an Indian American youth rights activist, political commentator, journalist, and writer, best known for founding the think tanks the Young India Foundation in 2015 to advocate for youth participation in youth politics, and the North American Association of Indian Students in 2020 to advocate for India–United States relations. Kaushik has a Bachelor of Arts from New York University, a Master of Arts from Columbia University, a Master of Science from the University of Oxford, and is enrolled for a Master of Business Administration with the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago since 2022 as a civic scholar. Manohar Lal Khattar (born 05 May 1954) is an Indian politician serving as the 10th and current chief minister of Haryana. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a former RSS pracharak. He represents Karnal constituency in Haryana Legislative Assembly.
