Dimitris Kaklamanakis
Dimitris Kaklamanakis (Greek language, Greek: Δημήτρης Κακλαμανάκης; born 1 September 1994) is a Greek professional basketball player for Panionios B.C., Panionios of the Greek A2 Basket League. He is a 2.06 m tall Center (basketball), center. Professional career Kaklamanakis played in amateur leagues with Milon B.C., Milonas before starting his pro career with Peristeri B.C., Peristeri. In 2015, he signed with Lavrio B.C., Lavrio. During his first season with Lavrio, he was a role player, averaging only 4 minutes per game. On 2 July 2016, Kaklamanakis renewed his contract with Lavrio until 2017 and gained a bigger role on the team's squad. At the end of the season, he averaged 4.4 points and 2 rebounds per game. Lavrio B
Laurium or Lavrio ( ell, Λαύριο; grc, Λαύρειον (later ); before early 11th century BC: Θορικός ''Thorikos''; from Middle Ages until 1908: Εργαστήρια ''Ergastiria'') is a town in southeastern part of Attica, Greece. It is part of Athens metropolitan area and the seat of the municipality of Lavreotiki. Laurium was famous in Classical antiquity for its silver mines, which was one of the chief sources of revenue of the Athenian state. The metallic silver was mainly used for coinage. Greek Basket League
The Greek Basket League (GBL), often also referred to as the Greek A1 Basketball League, or Greek Basketball Championship (originally called Panhellenic Basketball Championship), and also known as the Stoiximan Basket League for sponsorship reasons, is the first tier level professional basketball league in Greece. It is run by HEBA ( el, ΕΣΑΚΕ, link=no), under the legal authority of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). It is the highest-tier level of the Greek league system. The GBL plays under FIBA rules and currently consists of 13 teams, with the lowest-placed team relegated to the A2 Basket League and replaced by the winner of the play-offs of that tier. It runs from October to June, with teams playing 22 games each during the regular season, and the top 8 teams then competing in the playoffs. The 2018–19 Greek betshop.gr Basket League was the 79th season of the Greek Basket League, the top-tier level professional club basketball league in Greece. The season started on 7 October 2018, and ended on 15 June 2019. Panathinaikos OPAP won the Greek Basket League championship for a record 37th time, after beating Promitheas Patras 3–0 in the Finals. The season infamously featured a major feud between traditional rivals Panathinaikos and Olympiacos over refereeing decisions in the 2019 Greek Cup semifinals game between the two teams, which eventually culminated in Olympiacos also forfeiting their playoffs. 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualification (Europe)
The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Europe region, began in August 2017 and concluded in February 2019. Contrary to previous years, no teams were automatically placed into the World Cup, so all FIBA Europe nations had to participate in qualification. Format FIBA Europe was allocated 12 berths at the World Cup. In total, 37 FIBA Europe teams took part in the qualification tournament. The qualification consisted of the following stages: * Pre-Qualifiers: 13 teams that did not participate in EuroBasket 2017 took part. Eight teams had qualified for the first round. Greek National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team ( el, Eθνική Oμάδα Καλαθοσφαίρισης Ελλάδος) represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked ninth in the FIBA World Rankings. Greece appeared eight times at the FIBA World Cup, their best performance coming in 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Vassilis Mouratos (alternate spellings: Vasileios, Vasilis) ( el, Βασίλης Μουράτος; born November 24, 1997) is a Greek professional basketball player for Lavrio of the Greek Basket League. He is a 1.93 m (6'4") tall and 100 kg (220 lb.) point guard. His current agent is Konstantinos Oikonomopoulos.
