Dimeo Van Der Horst
Dimeo van der Horst (born 23 June 1991) is a Dutch 3x3 basketball player who plays for the Netherlands men's national 3x3 team. Standing at 1.95 m (6 ft 5 in), Van der Horst primarily plays as point guard. Born in Amsterdam, he played 11 seasons of professional basketball in the Dutch Basketball League for four different clubs. Professional career Amsterdam Van der Horst started his professional career in 2007 with Amsterdam Basketball, making his debut in a friendly game during the Haarlem Basketball Week, at age 16. He was given a place on the roster of the senior team in 2008–09 by coach Arik Shivek. On 9 October 2008, Van der Horst made his debut in the Eredivisie, scoring 3 points against the West-Brabant Giants. He won the 2008 and 2009 national championship with Amsterdam. 3x3 Basketball
3x3 basketball (pronounced ''three-ex-three'') is a variation of basketball played three-a-side, with one backboard and in a half-court setup. According to an ESSEC Business School study commissioned by the International Olympic Committee, 3x3 is the largest urban team sport in the world. This basketball game format is currently being promoted and structured by FIBA, the sport's governing body. This article describes the qualification procedure for EuroBasket 2017. Qualification format All teams which didn't qualify yet for EuroBasket 2017 were divided into six groups of four teams and one more of three. The winners of each group and the four best second-placed teams qualified for the final tournament. Kosovo made its first international appearance while Albania and Cyprus came back to the competition after absenting from the last edition. Russian Basketball Federation was suspended by FIBA in July 2015, but later their membership was restored in November 2015. Donar, also known as Donar Groningen, is a professional basketball club based in Groningen, Netherlands. The club competes in the BNXT League and its home arena is MartiniPlaza, which has a seating capacity of 4,350 people. West-Brabant Giants was a Dutch professional basketball club based in Bergen op Zoom. The club was established in 2003 and dissolved in 2011. The Dutch Basketball League (DBL), formerly the Eredivisie, was the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands, run by the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB). Arik Shivek ( he, אריק שיבק) is an Israeli professional basketball head coach. Shivek is the former head coach of the senior Israeli national basketball team, serving from 2009 to 2014, succeeding Zvi Sherf. Coaching career Shivek started coaching in 1983, with Maccabi Netanya, and later moved to clubs such as Maccabi Ra’anana, Maccabi Ramat Gan, and Hapoel Tel Aviv. Amsterdam Basketball was a Dutch professional basketball club from the city of Amsterdam, established in 1995 and dissolved in 2011. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position.
