Christian Friedrich August Dillmann (25 April 18237 July 1894) was a German oriental studies, orientalist and biblical scholar. Life The son of a Württemberg schoolmaster, he was born at Illingen, Baden-Württemberg, Illingen. He was educated at the University of Tübingen, where he became a pupil and friend of Heinrich Ewald, and studied under Ferdinand Christian Baur, though he did not join the new Tübingen school. Grover C
Grover is a blue Muppet character on the popular PBS/HBO children's television show ''Sesame Street''. Self-described as lovable, cute and furry, he is a blue monster who rarely uses contractions when he speaks or sings. Grover was originally performed by Frank Oz from his earliest appearances. Eric Jacobson has performed the character regularly from the year 2000 onwards. Origins A prototype version of Grover appeared on ''The Ed Sullivan Show'' on Christmas Eve in 1967. This puppet had greenish-brown fur and a red nose. He also had a raspier voice – somewhat like Cookie Monster's – and was played a bit more unkempt than Grover would later behave. The monster was referred to as "Gleep", a monster in Santa's workshop. He later made a cameo appearance in ''The Muppets on Puppets'' in 1968 with the Rock and Roll Monster. Bradford Dillman
Bradford Dillman (April 14, 1930 – January 16, 2018) was an American actor and author. Early life Bradford Dillman was born on April 14, 1930, in San Francisco, the son of Dean Dillman, a stockbroker, and Josephine (née Moore). Bradford's paternal grandparents were Charles Francis Dillman and Stella Borland Dean. He studied at Town School for Boys and St. Ignatius High School. He later attended the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut, where he became involved with school theatre productions. While at Yale University, he enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1948. While a student, he was a member of the Yale Dramatic Association, Fence Club, Torch Honor Society, The Society of Orpheus and Bacchus, WYBC and Berzelius. He graduated from Yale in 1951 with a BA in English Literature. After graduation, he entered the United States Marine Corps as an officer candidate, training at Parris Island. George Dillman
George Dillman (born November 23, 1942) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is an American martial arts instructor who popularized the use of pressure points (also known in Japanese as kyūsho jutsu (急所術)) among the United States' martial arts practitioners. Dillman is a member of '' Black Belt'' magazine's Hall of Fame, and in 1997 was named ''Black Belt Magazine''s "Martial Arts Instructor of the Year". For 30 years, he ran the Northeast Karate Championships. Dillman also conducts martial arts training seminars at the former Muhammad Ali training camp at Deer Lake, Pennsylvania. Dillman has been subject to scrutiny stemming from the observation that many of his most famous techniques don’t work, especially those involving alleged touchless chi manipulation. Meredith Dillman is a fantasy artist and illustrator from Minnesota who specializes in fairies and fairy tale paintings. She has published multiple art books and illustrated the covers and interiors of art books and novels. Biography Training and influences Dillman graduated from the Minnesota State University Moorhead with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration in 2002, and part of her time studying was spent in Japan. Her works have been partially inspired by manga. She has stated her influences include Art Nouveau, manga and other Asian influences, and the Pre-Raphaelite movement, as well as fantasy and fairy tales she enjoyed as a child. Personal life Dillman was born and raised in Minnesota. She now lives in Wisconsin, along with two cats and her husband.
