Dilipa Fenestra
''Dilipa fenestra'' is a butterfly found in the East Palearctic (East China, Northeast China, Korea) that belongs to the browns family. Description from Seitz D. fenestra Leech ( = Apatura chrysus Oberth.) (51c) is a singular species, red-brown being its prevailing ground-colour. In the male the forewing dusted witli blackish in the basal area, there being further a broad black oblique band from the costal margin to the second median branch, behind the band a round spot as in the female, at the hinder angle an elongate spot, anteriorly 2 transparent subapical spots; the distal margin edged with black. Hindwing also margined with black distally, with a median band composed of 6 black spots, the basal and hindmarginal areas grey dusted with black. Underside as in female, ground-colour of the forewing more yellow. Adalbert Seitz
Friedrich Joseph Adalbert Seitz, (24 February 1860 in Mainz – 5 March 1938 in Darmstadt) was a German physician and entomologist who specialised in Lepidoptera. He was a director of the Frankfurt zoo from 1893 to 1908 and is best known for editing the multivolume reference on the butterflies and larger moths of the world ''Die Gross-Schmetterlinge der Erde'' which continued after his death. Biography Seitz was born in Mainz and went to school in Aschaffenburg, Darmstadt and Bensheim. He studied medicine from 1880 to 1885 and then zoology at Giessen. His doctorate was on the protective devices of animals. He worked as an assistant in the maternity hospital of the University of Giessen and then worked as a ship's doctor from 1887, travelling to Australia, South America and Asia. He began to collect butterflies on these travels. In 1891 he habilitated in zoology with a thesis on the biology of butterflies from the University of Giessen. John Henry Leech
John Henry Leech (5 December 1862 – 29 December 1900) was an English entomologist who specialised in Lepidoptera and Coleoptera. His collections from China, Japan, and Kashmir are in the Natural History Museum, London. These also contain insects from Morocco, the Canary Islands, and Madeira. He wrote ''British Pyralides'' (1886) and ''Butterflies from China, Japan and Corea'', three volumes (1892–1894). He was a fellow of the Linnean Society and of the Entomological Society of London, a member of the ''Société entomologique de France'', and of the Entomological Society of Berlin (''Entomologischen Verein zu Berlin''). He died at his home, Hurdcott House, near Salisbury, in 1900. The Palearctic or Palaearctic is the largest of the eight biogeographic realms of the Earth. It stretches across all of Eurasia north of the foothills of the Himalayas, and North Africa.
