Dilalpur Union
Dilalpur union is a union of Bajitpur upazila of Kishoreganj district of Dhaka division of Bangladesh. It is a very old union. It is located on the bank of river Ghorautra. During the British period, the river port of Dilalpur was famous in the subcontinent. Many ships used to sail here every day. During the reign of Nawab Alivardi Khan, the famous scholar of the subcontinent, Maulvi Ubedul Hasan, was born here. History During the British period the naval port of Dilalpur Union in Bajitpur Upazila became famous. Demographics Dilalpur Union consists of 24 villages covering a total area of 10.55 km2. Asiatic Society Of Bangladesh
The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh is a non political and non profit research organisation registered under both Society Act of 1864 and NGO Bureau, Government of Bangladesh. The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh was established as the Asiatic Society of East Pakistan in Dhaka in 1952 by a number of Muslim leaders, and renamed in 1972. Ahmed Hasan Dani, a noted Muslim historian and archaeologist of Pakistan played an important role in founding this society. He was assisted by Muhammad Shahidullah, a Bengali linguist. The society is housed in Nimtali, walking distance from the Curzon Hall of Dhaka University, locality of Old Dhaka. Bajitpur Upazila
Bajitpur ( bn, বাজিতপুর) is an administrative unit of Kishoreganj District in Bangladesh. Bajitpur was created by Baizid Kha. It was previously a Mohkuma(মহকুমা) of greater Mymensingh district, currently falls under the Dhaka Division. The place is well known to Bangladeshis and people of West Bengal for being the ancestral home and birthplace. It was famous for fine quality of Muslin. It has one of the best medical college(Jahurul Islam Medical College) in Bangladesh. It has many tourist attractions. Such as Dewan Bari Masjid, Bengla Fishery, Jahurul Islam Medical College, Dilalpur Haor and Dilalpur - Kuliarchar Road. The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) is the centralized official bureau in Bangladesh for collecting statistics on demographics, the economy, and other facts about the country and disseminating the information. History Although independent statistical programs had existed in the country before, they were often incomplete or produced inaccurate results, which led the Government of Bangladesh establishing an official bureau in August 1974, by merging four of the previous larger statistical agencies, the Bureau of Statistics, the Bureau of Agriculture Statistics, the Agriculture Census Commission and the Population Census Commission. In July 1975, the Statistics and Informatics Division was created under the Planning Ministry (Bangladesh) and tasked to oversee the BBS.
