Dikaia Railway Station
Dikaia railway station ( el, Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Δικαίων, Sidirodromikos Stathmos Dikeon) is a railway station that serves the village of Dikaia, Evros in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Located less than east of the centre of Dikaia, the station opened in 1874 by the Chemins de fer Orientaux (now part of OSE). Today TrainOSE operates just four daily regional trains to Alexandroupoli and Ormenio. The station is unstaffed however there are waiting rooms available. It is one of the northernmost operational railway stations in Greece, close to both the Bulgarian and Turkish borders. History The station opened in 1874 when the line, built by the Chemins de fer Orientaux, from Istanbul to Vienna opened. Evros ( el, Περιφερειακή ενότητα Έβρου) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of East Macedonia and Thrace. Its name is derived from the river Evros, which appears to have been a Thracian hydronym. Evros is the northernmost regional unit. It borders Turkey to the east, across the river Evros, and it borders Bulgaria to the north and the northwest. Its capital is Alexandroupolis. Edirne (, ), formerly known as Adrianople or Hadrianopolis (Greek: Άδριανούπολις), is a city in Turkey, in the northwestern part of the province of Edirne in Eastern Thrace. Svilengrad ( bg, Свиленград; el, Σβίλενγκραντ; ota, Cisr-i Mustafapaşa) is a town in Haskovo Province, south-central Bulgaria, situated at the border of Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece. Marasia (Greek: Μαράσια, Turkish: ''Maraş'', Bulgarian:''Maраш'') is a village in the northern part of the Evros (regional unit), Evros regional unit in Greece. Marasia is part of the municipal unit of Trigono. In 2011 its population was 140. It is situated between the rivers Maritsa, Evros and Arda (Maritsa), Ardas, close to their confluence. Karaağaç Railway Station
The Karaağaç station ( tr, Karaağaç Garı) or before 1971 Edirne station ( tr, Edirne Garı) was the name of the former railway station in Edirne, located south-west of the city. Currently, it houses Trakya University's Faculty of Fine Arts. History In 1868, the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer Orientaux (CO), Orient Railway Company, received a concession to build a railway to Vienna, Austria via Edirne. In 1871, the line reached Edirne but in order to avoid building a bridge across the Maritsa River, the station was built in Karaağaç in 1873. The Treaty of Lausanne (french: Traité de Lausanne) was a peace treaty negotiated during the Lausanne Conference of 1922–23 and signed in the Palais de Rumine, Lausanne, Switzerland, on 24 July 1923.
