Dignity was a Dutch R&B group consisting of Gracia Gorré, Karima Lemghari, Susan Haps, and Edsilia Rombley Edsilia Francisca Rombley (born 13 February 1978) is a Dutch singer and television presenter. She began her career in 1995, as a member of the Dutch girl group Dignity. Rombley began her solo career in 1996, after winning the Dutch talent show ''S ... who departed the band in 1997 for a solo career. Dignity is an abbreviation of Dignified Individuals Giving New Insight To You. History Dignity debuted in 1997 with the songs "Talk to Me" and "Hold Me" on the compilation album ''No Sweat - Dutch R&B Flavor'', an initiative to publicize Dutch urban talent. Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. The genre features a distinctive record production style, drum machine-backed rhythms, pitch corrected vocals, and a smooth, lush style of vocal arrangement. Electronic influences are becoming an increasing trend and the use of hip hop or dance-inspired beats are typical, although the roughness and grit inherent in hip hop may be reduced and smoothed out. Edsilia Rombley
Edsilia Francisca Rombley (born 13 February 1978) is a Dutch singer and television presenter. She began her career in 1995, as a member of the Dutch girl group Dignity. Rombley began her solo career in 1996, after winning the Dutch talent show ''Soundmixshow'', later winning the ''European Soundmix Show'' as well the following year. In 1998, Rombley won '' Nationaal Songfestival 1998'' and represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 with the song " Hemel en aarde", placing fourth. She later represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song " On Top of the World", but did not qualify for the final. In 2009, Rombley hosted season one of the Dutch celebrity talent show ''Beste Zangers.'' Music recording certifications are typically awarded by the worldwide music industry based on the total units sold, streamed, or shipped to retailers. The Dutch Single Top 100 or Single Top 100 is a Dutch chart, based on official physical single sales, legal downloads and since July 2013 streaming and composed by Dutch Charts. It is one of the three official charts, the other two being the Dutch Top 40 and the Mega Top 30. The difference is that these charts also include airplay data. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia.
