''Thigambara Samiar'' () is 1950 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language thriller film produced and directed by T. R. Sundaram. An adaptation of Vaduvur Duraisami Iyengar, Vaduvoor K. Duraswamy Iyengar's novel of the same name, the film stars M. N. Nambiar and M. S. Draupadi. It revolves around the efforts of a man to expose the illicit activities of a corrupt lawyer. The film was released on 22 September 1950, and emerged a commercial success. Vaduvur Duraisami Iyengar (1880 – 1942) was a Tamil writer of detective fiction in the 1940s. He is one of the pioneer in detective story writing in Tamil language. His protagonist, Digambara Samiar, was a ''sanyasi'' or holy man on a mission to fight crime. Some of his works are made into movies such as Menaka (1935 film), Menaka (1955 film) ''Menaka'' is a 1955 Indian Tamil language film directed by V. C. Subburaman. It is a remake of the 1935 film of the same name, in turn based on the novel of the same name by Vaduvur Duraisami Iyengar. The film stars K. R. Ramasamy and Lalith .... ''Ek Thi Larki'' (Hindi: एक थी लड़की, There Was A Girl) is a 1949 Hindi action comedy film by director Roop K. Shorey. It had the famous Punjabi song "Laara Lappa Laara Lappa Layi Rakhda" by Lata Mangeshkar, G. M. Durrani and Mohammad Rafi. The music director was Vinod, with lyrics by Aziz Kashmiri and story by I. S.
