Different Recordings
Different Recordings is an electronic music label owned by the PIAS, an international independent music company. After a three year hiatus, the label returned in 2015 with a family of new signings from Claptone, Anna of the North, Vessels, KLLO, Infinity Ink and Denney. The label looks to champion a fresh crop of forward thinking, electronic artists. It was launched during the emergence of the French house scene and over the years has represented a broad range of electronic music with releases by artists such as Etienne de Crecy, Alex Gopher, Alan Braxe, Tiga, The Hacker, Felix Da Housecat, MSTRKRFT, Crystal Castles and Vitalic. Pansoul
''Pansoul'' is the only album by French house duo Motorbass, released in July 1996 under the record label Motorbass. It was reissued in 2003 and then again on October 21, 2021 by the record label Ed Banger to mark the 25th anniversary of the album's release. It is credited as being one of the first and most important albums in the French house genre. Critical reception In its review of the 2003 reissue, ''Uncut'' magazine called it "the starting point for the French dance movement, and therefore one of that decade's most important records. Kris Menace
Kris Menace (born Christoph Hoeffel) is a German electronic musician and music producer. History Christophe Hoeffel began to work as a producer and writer in the mid-1990s for different projects and started using the pseudonym "Kris Menace" in 2005. Menace's debut single "Discopolis" (in collaboration with his friend Lifelike) was released on Alan Braxe's label Vulture Music in 2005. "Discopolis" was later picked up by Defected Records and re-released with various remixes (such as that of Kerri Chandler) and a video directed by Seb Janiak. It became a huge hit in late 2006, reaching #10 in Finland and #89 in the UK Singles Chart. Menace later formed his label Compuphonic and continued to release singles under its imprint. Étienne Bernard Marie de Crécy (, born 25 February 1969, Lyon, France), also known as Superdiscount, EDC, Minos Pour Main Basse and Mooloodjee, is a French DJ and producer who composes electronic music, primarily house. Crystal Fighters are an English-Spanish electronic music band, formed in 2007, in London, England, and in Navarre, Spain. The Bloody Beetroots is an Italian electronic music project of musician and producer Bob Rifo (also Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo and SBCR, born Simone Cogo). Established in late 2006, the Bloody Beetroots were initially a duo consisting of Bob Rifo and Tommy Tea, who later left in 2012. Career The leader of the band, Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, was born in 1977 in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. He lives in Venice Beach, California. He is a classically trained musician, but gained reputation for producing music with styles ranging from punk rock to the new wave of the 1980s. His identity remains largely anonymous. Alexander Kowalski (born 1978 in Greifswald) is a German techno music artist. Career Kowalski moved to Berlin in the early 1990s, and became exposed to techno music there. Early influences on his work were Joey Beltram and Synewave, though he was limited to using cheap instruments to emulate them. He performed his first live gig at the Tresor Club in Berlin, and soon thereafter got in contact with Pacou and Sender Berlin, eventually releasing his first track on Proton Records in 1999. That same year, Kowalski and collaborator Stassy from Sender Berlin debuted as the techno team Double. Kowalski released his debut record ''Echoes'' in 2001, on the Kanzleramt label. Simon Neale (born 20 January 1977 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England), known by his stage names Shadow Child and Dave Spoon, is an English radio DJ and dance music producer. He's also part of the duo Avec alongside Doorly. He was part of the line-up on BBC Radio 1's "In New DJs We Trust" feature, which ran from Thursday night to Friday morning at 2 am to 4 am. Anna of the North is the solo project of Anna Lotterud, an Oslo-based Norwegian singer-songwriter from Gjøvik. Originally formed as a duo with producer Brady Daniell-Smith in 2014, their debut studio album ''Lovers (Anna of the North album), Lovers'' was released in 2017. Daniell-Smith left the group in 2018, with Lotterud continuing to use the name.
