Dieter Riedel
Dieter Riedel (born 16 September 1947) is a German former football player and coach. From 1995 to 1997, he was the chairman of Dynamo Dresden. Club career Riedel, a strong dribbler standing only 1.70 m tall, began his career with BSG Stahl Gröditz. He joined Dynamo Dresden in 1966, forming a legendary duo with Gert Heidler. Between 1967 and 1981, Riedel played 211 DDR-Oberliga matches and scored 49 goals. In this time, the club won the GDR championship 5 times and the FDGB Cup twice. In his 54 matches for the FDGB Cup, Riedel scored 14 goals. On 20 September 1967, Riedel scored his team's first goal in the Europacup, from a distance of 20 meters against the Glasgow Rangers in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. In the European Cup competitions, he played in a total of 46 matches and scored eight goals. Gröditz
Gröditz () is a town in the district Meißen, in Saxony, Germany. The town is located 12 km northeast of Riesa, and 7 km southwest of Elsterwerda. Geography Gröditz is located on a 100 meter high plains that of the Röder is crossed. The city is located on the Saxon side of today's Saxon - Brandenburg border and the former Saxon - Prussian border. The East Germany Olympic football team, recognized as Germany DR by FIFA, was from 1952 to 1990 the football team of East Germany for Olympic football events, playing as one of three post-war German teams, along with Saarland and West Germany. Dynamo Dresden Players
As one of the leading clubs in East Germany, Dynamo Dresden provided 36 East German internationals, including the country's second most-capped player, Hans-Jürgen Dörner, and its joint second top scorer, Hans-Jürgen Kreische. Kreische and Siegmar Wätzlich were in East Germany's squad for their only World Cup appearance (1974), while twelve Dynamo players won Olympic medals, including six gold medallists in 1976. After German reunification a number of Dynamo players went on to represent the Germany national team, including Jens Jeremies, Ulf Kirsten, Olaf Marschall and Alexander Zickler.
